Journal ArticleDOI
On the perturbation of the intramolecular H-bond in diols by supercritical CO2: a theoretical and spectroscopic study.
TL;DR: High-temperature-high-pressure in situ infrared spectroscopic measurements combined with ab initio calculations were performed to investigate the hydroxyl stretching vibrations of ethylene glycol and 1,4-butanediol, two monomers commonly used in the field of step growth polymerization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phase equilibrium engineering of supercritical hydrogenation reactors
TL;DR: In this paper, a group contribution equation of state is applied to predict the required phase equilibrium scenarios for solvent containing reactive mixtures for two reaction problems: the hydrogenation of vegetable oils and the hydrogenolysis of fatty acid methyl esters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enantiodifferentiating photoaddition of alcohols to 1,1-diphenylpropene in supercritical carbon dioxide: sudden jump of optical yield at the critical density.
TL;DR: In the enantiodifferentiating photoaddition of ROH to 1,1-diphenylpropene sensitized by fructosyl 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylate in supercritical carbon dioxide, the enantiomeric excess of photoadduct increased with increasing bulkiness of the alcohol at all pressures used, with an accompanying sudden jump at the critical density.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enantioselective addition of alkynes to imines in ionic liquids
TL;DR: The enantioselective alkyne-imine addition catalysed by copper(I)-bis(oxazoline) (box) can be efficiently performed in the ionic liquid 1-n-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [bmim][NTf2] as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isochoric lines and determination of phase transitions in supercritical reactors
TL;DR: In this article, the problem of finding the conditions for homogeneous operation of supercritical chemical reactors is studied experimentally using an isochoric method, and the linear variation found both in the homogeneous and the vapor-liquid region of the reacting mixtures allows a clear determination of the transition points at different mixture densities and compositions.

Aerogels-Airy Materials: Chemistry, Structure, and Properties.
Nicola Hüsing,Ulrich S. Schubert +1 more
TL;DR: The design of such a filigrane network requires the very careful control of chemical parameters and the reward is an assortment of different property profiles owing to the richness of possible variations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structures of metal sites of oxidized bovine heart cytochrome c oxidase at 2.8 A
Tomitake Tsukihara,Hiroshi Aoyama,Eiki Yamashita,Takashi Tomizaki,Hiroshi Yamaguchi,Kyoko Shinzawa-Itoh,Ryosuke Nakashima,Rieko Yaono,Shinya Yoshikawa +8 more
TL;DR: The high resolution three-dimensional x-ray structure of the metal sites of bovine heart cytochrome c oxidase is reported, suggesting a dinuclear copper center with an unexpected structure similar to a [2Fe-2S]-type iron-sulfur center.
Journal ArticleDOI
Homogeneous Hydrogenation of Carbon Dioxide
TL;DR: In this article, the simplest and most studied reactions of CO{sub 2} are the catalytic reactions with H{sub 1} in the presence or absence of other reactive species.

Reactions at supercritical conditions: Applications and fundamentals
TL;DR: A review of chemical reactions in and with supercritical fluids can be found in this paper, where the authors discuss both fundamental studies and applications of reactions at supercritical conditions, with focus on work published after 1985.
