The Definition and Prevalence of Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome.

TLDR
Obesity is associated with a large decrease in life expectancy, but up to 30% of obese patients are metabolically healthy with insulin sensitivity similar to healthy normal weight individuals, lower visceral fat content, and lower intima media thickness of the carotid artery than the majority of metabolically "unhealthy" obese patients.
Abstract
Increase in prevalence of obesity has become a worldwide major health problem in adults, as well as among children and adolescents. Furthermore, total adiposity and truncal subcutaneous fat accumulation during adolescence are positively and independently associated with atherosclerosis at adult ages. Centrally accumulation of body fat is associated with insulin resistance, whereas distribution of body fat in a peripheral pattern is metabolically less important. Obesity is associated with a large decrease in life expectancy. The effect of extreme obesity on mortality is greater among younger than older adults. In this respect, obesity is also associated with increased risk of several cancer types. However, up to 30% of obese patients are metabolically healthy with insulin sensitivity similar to healthy normal weight individuals, lower visceral fat content, and lower intima media thickness of the carotid artery than the majority of metabolically “unhealthy” obese patients.

Hypoxia, Obesity and Drug Resistance; Towards Sustainable Development Goals and Globalization

TL;DR: Obesity is the excessive fat accumulation in a body, which hinders many of the metabolic processes as well as causes secondary morbidities, and this excessive fat and hypoxia in obese patients lead to drug resistance.

Gender Differences in the Psychopathology of Obesity: How Relevant Is the Role of Binge Eating Behaviors?

TL;DR: In this article , the authors identify the main psychopathological correlates of obese candidates for bariatric surgery, with particular attention on the relationship between psychopathology and gender, using a compilation of psychometric scales: the Revised Symptom Checklist 90-R (SCL-90-R), the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire (EDE-Q), the Binge Eating Scale (BES), the Body Uneasiness Test (BUT) and the Obesity-Related Well-Being (ORWELL 97).

Effects of Cannabidiol on Appetite and Body Weight: A Systematic Review

TL;DR: In this paper , a systematic review suggests that cannabidiol has an anorexigenic effect, correlated with a decrease in body weight and an increase in appetite, but most of the studies included in the present review raised some concerns in terms of risk of bias.

Use of the magnetic compression technique in sleeve gastrectomy: a preliminary study.

TL;DR: Sleeve gastrectomy is widely performed in obese patients for its excellent surgical result and easy surgical procedures, but stomach leakage may cause severe consequences, such as infection and death, although the incidence rate of this complication is 2.4%.
