TLDR
It is demonstrated that large studies of acute leukemia PDXs that mimic human randomized clinical trials can characterize drug efficacy and generate transcriptional, functional, and proteomic biomarkers in both treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory disease.

Biomarker-guided treatment strategies for ovarian cancer identified from a heterogeneous panel of patient-derived tumor xenografts

TL;DR: The PDX panel aimed to mimic the heterogeneity of disease observed in patients, and exhibited a distribution of responsiveness to standard of care chemotherapy similar to human clinical data, suggesting the possibility of a new therapeutic approach to ovarian cancer and demonstrating the potential power of PDX-based trials in broadening the reach of precision cancer medicine.

A reliable method to determine which candidate chemotherapeutic drugs effectively inhibit tumor growth in patient-derived xenografts (PDX) in single mouse trials.

TL;DR: A statistical method that can group anti-cancer drugs into those that are inhibitory and those that is non-inhibitory in single mouse trials and provide probabilities that the grouping is correct is reported on.

Bone Marrow Microenvironment-Induced Chemoprotection in KMT2A Rearranged Pediatric AML Is Overcome by Azacitidine–Panobinostat Combination

TL;DR: In this article , the effect of epigenetic therapy on pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells in multicell coculture and in murine models was tested and it was shown that epigenetic drug combination followed by chemotherapy was effective in overcoming chemoprotection.

Functional precision oncology for follicular lymphoma with patient-derived xenograft in avian embryos

TL;DR: The FL-AVI-PDX model is a platform for functional precision oncology in primary Follicular lymphoma (FL) cells that captures both inter-and intra-patient heterogeneity of clinical response to a complex therapeutic regimen as discussed by the authors .

The Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia enables predictive modelling of anticancer drug sensitivity

TL;DR: The results indicate that large, annotated cell-line collections may help to enable preclinical stratification schemata for anticancer agents and the generation of genetic predictions of drug response in the preclinical setting and their incorporation into cancer clinical trial design could speed the emergence of ‘personalized’ therapeutic regimens.
