Proceedings ArticleDOI

Recent progress in developing highly efficient nonlinear optical chromophores and side-chain dendronized polymers for electro-optics

TL;DR: In this paper, a diversified family of 2,5-dihydrofuran derivatives has been synthesized as a new class of tunable electron acceptors using singlemode focused microwave irradiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Controlled assembly of large π-conjugated aromatic thiols on Au(111)

TL;DR: The results from the systematic study of controlled self-assembly of a series of pyrene-based thiols provide insights on the molecular structure-dependent and temperature-dependent organization of large pi-conjugated aromaticThiols to obtain ordered SAMs.
Journal ArticleDOI

A conductive liquid crystal via facile doping of an n-type benzodifurandione derivative

TL;DR: In this paper, two n-type molecular organic semiconductors (TI-BDF1 and BDF2) consisting of thiophene-substituted indolin-2-one (TI) and benzodifurandione (BDF) with different branched side-chains have been synthesized to study the effect of molecular structure on molecular order, liquid crystal properties, and charge-transport.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanochemical changes in absorption and fluorescence of DDM-containing epoxies

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrated that diamine-cured epoxies containing the 4,4′-diaminodiphenyl methane (DDM) framework display changes in both absorption and fluorescence in response to UV light.
