Book ChapterDOI
Inhibitory Ly49 receptors on mouse natural killer cells.
Mark T. Orr,Lewis L. Lanier +1 more
TL;DR: The polymorphism, ligand specificity, and signaling capacity of the inhibitory Ly49 receptors are reviewed and how these molecules regulate NK cell development and function is discussed.
Journal Article
Salivary gland lymphocytes in primary Sjogren's syndrome lack lymphocyte subsets defined by Leu-7 and Leu-11 antigens.
TL;DR: The absence of this regulatory subset in the salivary glands of SS patients may contribute to pathogenesis, because these cells may be important in the suppression of polyclonal antibody synthesis and in the elimination of neoplastic or viral infected cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased TLR Responses in Dendritic Cells Lacking the Itam-Containing Adapters Dap12 and FcR{gamma}
Jessica A. Hamerman,Yen-Ling Yu,Kuan-Yin Shen,Clifford A. Lowell,Lewis L. Lanier,Ching-Liang Chu +5 more
TL;DR: This article showed that both DAP12 and the FcϵRIγ-chain (FcRγ) are required for negative regulation of TLR responses in bone marrow-derived dendritic cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Role of Innate Immunity in Autoimmunity
Jean-François Bach,Albert Bendelac,Michael B. Brenner,Harvey Cantor,Gennaro De Libero,Mitchell Kronenberg,Lewis L. Lanier,David H. Raulet,Mark J. Shlomchik,Matthias von Herrath +9 more
TL;DR: During the 2004 International Congress of Immunology in Montreal, a panel of experts gathered for an “Ideashop” discussion on the potential role of innate immunity in autoimmunity and the ways in which this might be targeted in future therapies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Functional expression of CD28 on T cell antigen receptor γ/δ-bearing T lymphocytes
Roberto Testi,Lewis L. Lanier +1 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that CD28 is expressed on ∼40%–60% of TcR γ/δ‐bearing T lymphocytes in most donors, and monoclonal antibodies directed against CD28 potentiate activation signals delivered through the CD3/TcR α/β complex.
