Linked dual-class HIV resistance mutations are associated with treatment failure
Valerie F. Boltz,Wei Shao,Michael J. Bale,Elias K. Halvas,Brian T. Luke,James A. McIntyre,Robert T. Schooley,Shahin Lockman,Judith S. Currier,Fred Sawe,Evelyn Hogg,Michael Hughes,Mary F. Kearney,John M. Coffin,John W. Mellors +14 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that linked dual-class DRMs present before the initiation of ART are associated with ART failure, whereas linked single- class DRMs are not.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
A hand-held flexible mechatronic device for arthroscopy
TL;DR: This paper presents a hand-held mechatronic tool with a miniaturized distal flexible manipulator incorporating a microscopy probe, camera and a light source for diagnostic arthroscopy for minimally invasive surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of chemokine and chemokine receptor polymorphisms in seroprevalent children with symptomatic HIV-1 infection in the United States.
Kumud K. Singh,Charlene F. Barroga,Michael Hughes,Jie Chen,Claire Raskino,Ross E. McKinney,Stephen A. Spector +6 more
TL;DR: Analysis of genetic variations in CCR2, SDF1, and the CCR5 gene and its promoter region in a seroprevalent cohort of children with symptomatic HIV-1 infection in the United States shows that the distribution of chemokine receptor and Chemokine genetic polymorphisms varies significantly across race/ethnicity subgroups of HIV–1–infected children.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Optical coherence tomography and confocal microscopy investigations of dental structures and restoration materials
Meda Lavinia Negrutiu,Cosmin Sinescu,Mihai Rominu,Michael Hughes,George Dobre,Adrian Gh. Podoleanu +5 more
TL;DR: The present study evaluates the potential of en-face optical coherence tomography (OCT) as a possible non-invasive high resolution imaging method in supplying the necessary information on the quality of dental hard tissues and defects of dental restorative materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Digital ulcer debridement in systemic sclerosis: a systematic literature review
Michael Hughes,Michael Hughes,Begonya Alcacer-Pitarch,Begonya Alcacer-Pitarch,Ana Maria Gheorghiu,Emanuela Praino,Robert D Sandler,Yonit Tavor,Cosimo Bruni,Marco Matucci-Cerinic +9 more
TL;DR: To improve wound care for SSc-DUs, future research should focus on developing a standardised protocol for S Sc-DU debridement, with a view to facilitate randomised controlled trials to demonstrate safety and treatment efficacy.
