TL;DR: The present work, completely supported by physical clones, provides the most comprehensive survey of a mammalian transcriptome so far, and is a valuable resource for functional genomics.

TL;DR: The first RIKEN clone collection is described, which is one of the largest described for any organism and analysis of these cDNAs extends known gene families and identifies new ones.

Hilary Russell,Heidi Stuhlmann,Manami Tanaka,Tanaka Tomoo,William S. Trimble,Jerry Ware,Nancy J. Zeleznik-Le,Barbara Zieger +27 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the mammalian septin field adopt a common nomenclature system, based on that adopted by the Mouse Genomic Nomenclatures Committee and accepted by the Human Genome Organization Gene NomenClature Committee.
Journal ArticleDOI
CDS annotation in full-length cDNA sequence.
Masaaki Furuno,Takeya Kasukawa,Rintaro Saito,Jun Adachi,Harukazu Suzuki,Richard M. Baldarelli,Yoshihide Hayashizaki,Yasushi Okazaki +7 more
TL;DR: This work developed a CDS annotation strategy that uses a variety of different CDS prediction programs to annotate the CDS regions of FANTOM2 cDNAs, which resulted in high quality CDS predictions for a total of 14,345 FANTom2 clones.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development and evaluation of an automated annotation pipeline and cDNA annotation system.
Takeya Kasukawa,Masaaki Furuno,Itoshi Nikaido,Hidemasa Bono,David A. Hume,Carol J. Bult,David P. Hill,Richard M. Baldarelli,Julian Gough,Alexander Kanapin,Hideo Matsuda,Lynn M. Schriml,Yoshihide Hayashizaki,Yasushi Okazaki,John Quackenbush +14 more
TL;DR: A new standard for large-scale annotation is proposed, in which the initial automated annotations are manually investigated and then computational methods are iteratively modified and improved based on the results of manual curation.
