TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the inactivation of Bacillus subtilis spores in water by means of a developed dielectric barrier discharge-driven Xel* excilamp and a conventional low-pressure mercury lamp.
Abstract: Summary form only given. Conventional technology for disinfection by UV irradiation is based on mercury lamps. The development of a new mercury-free UV lamp is very important due to the environmentally unfriendly nature of mercury. In present study we compared the inactivation of Bacillus subtilis spores in water by means of a developed dielectric barrier discharge-driven Xel* excilamp and a conventional low- pressure mercury lamp. Experiments have been carried out with the air-cooled sealed off lamp, filled with a Xe/L = 13.3/0.04 kPa mixture, which has been determined as optimum from the viewpoint of maximal UV output. The main part (-76%) of the excilamp output was due to the BrarrX transition of Xel* exciplex at 253 nm. The excilamp was excited using a custom built power supply, providing bipolar pulses with peak-to-peak voltage U = 0-4.4 kV, rising and falling times of 0.9 and 0.6 mus, f= 21.5-115 kHz. A more detail description of the design and output characteristics of a developed Xel* excilamp has been presente. It has been shown for the first time that better sterilization action is achieved with the developed DBD-driven Xel* excilamp compared to a conventional monochromatic mercury lamp at the same UV fluence. A reduction by more than 6 orders of magnitude of B. subtilis spores concentration (CFU/ml) has been reached and the D-value was about 5-9.5 mJ/cm2. A reduction by four orders of magnitude (99.99% inactivated microorganisms) was achieved at 22-25 mJ/cm2 for the Xel* excilamp and at 40 mJ/cm2 for the mercury lamp. An additional effect of the I* radiation at 206 nm and in the VUV range (178-188 nm) has been confirmed. It has been tested that the DBD-driven Xel* excilamp can be used for the inactivation of the microorganisms in a steady state mode or in the movable systems (drinking water treatment or food package sterilization).

TL;DR: The article presents and analyzes the results of the pilot study, at which opioid nalbuphine was daily administered in white rats-males of reproductive age for six weeks and one week after discontinuation of therapy.
Abstract: The article presents and analyzes the results of the pilot study, at which opioid nalbuphine was daily administered in white rats-males of reproductive age (1,5–3,5 – month) for six weeks and one week after discontinuation of therapy. The drug “nalbuphine” was injected intraperitoneally daily 1 per day over 42 days. The data were compared with a control group of intact animals. The study was conducted on 52 animals, which were divided into eight groups. Morphometric study was performed using a system of visual analysis of histological preparations. Dynamics of changes in the external and internal diameters of medium caliber arteries thymus, media and lumen area, Vohenvorta ratio was studied. The increase of the external diameter and reduction of the internal diameter of the medium caliber arteries, increase of the area of media, increase of the area of the lumen, increase of the Vohenvortaratio. The blood vessels are dilated, gaps filled elements of the blood vessels around the swelling, the process of vascular sclerosis.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors study the dynamics of the main indicators of the Canadian banking system during the period from 2000 to 2019 inclusively, and show that the number of commercial banks has had a positive dynamics during the analyzed period, even the period of the global financial crisis of 2008-2009 has not reduced their number, which indicates the stability and prudent policy of the commercial banks and the Central Bank as a whole.
Abstract: Relevance of research. During the global financial collapse of 2008–2009, Canadian banks demonstrated stability and vastly avoided the international crisis. There was a view that Canada’s banking system was strict and overly risk-oriented, but after the crisis, it was recognized as logical in terms of lending, which required careful government supervision and regulation based on the principles of security and reliability. In fact, the World Economic Forum recognizes Canadian banks as the most stable in the world. So, all mentioned above prompted us to study the dynamics of the main indicators of the Canadian banking system. The aim of the study is to summarize and characterize the existing trends of banking system evolution in Canada. Methodological basis of the study is based on the analysis of the study of the Canadian banking system according to the indicators of the number of banking institutions, their profitability / loss, the quality of the loan portfolio and analysis of the largest banks in the country. A systemic analysis of the quantitative and qualitative composition of the above-mentioned banking indicators, synthesis and generalization were used to generalize and formulate conclusions. Scientific results. This article is devoted to the study of the dynamics of the main indicators of the Canadian banking system during the period from 2000 to 2019 inclusively. It is argued that the number of commercial banks has had a positive dynamics during the analyzed period, even the period of the global financial crisis of 2008-2009 has not reduced their number, which indicates the stability and prudent policy of commercial banks and the Central Bank as a whole. It has been established that 2019 is the year of the historical maximum assets of the Canadian banking system (more than 277% of Canada’s GDP). It is shown that the assets of eight largest banks in Canada account for 91% of the total assets of the banking sector. A record decline in the bank’s profits was recorded in 2009. The quality of the loan portfolio of commercial banks in Canada since 2009 shows a significant decrease in the share of outstanding loans. The practical significance of the study is to rate the strengths and weaknesses of the Canadian banking system. Significance / originality. The results achieved form an integrated view of the functioning of the Canadian banking system. The following studies will focus on methods and models for verifying the stability of banking systems, including the Canadian banking system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the current−voltage characteristics, the magnitudes of cathode potential drop, the dependences of the total and specific glow discharge power which is injected into the plasma from the discharge current, as well as the density of electrons in the glow discharge in air at atmospheric pressure with the cathode based on 1−10% solutions of aluminum sulfate in distilled water.
Abstract: The paper presents the current−voltage characteristics, the magnitudes of cathode potential drop, the dependences of the total and specific glow discharge power which is injected into the plasma from the discharge current, as well as the density of electrons in the glow discharge in air at atmospheric pressure with the cathode based on 1−10% solutions of aluminum sulfate in distilled water. The distance between the electrolytic liquid cathode and the metal anode is varied from 1 to 10 mm at an average discharge current of 8−36 mA. The discharge is promising for the synthesis of nanostructures of aluminum and aluminum oxide which are formed when processing the solutions with a glow discharge.
