TL;DR: A comprehensive clinical, neurological, laboratory, and instrumental analysis of Fabry disease in a young white adult admitted to the Regional Clinical Center of Neurosurgery and Neurology (Uzhhorod, Ukraine) is provided.
Abstract: Background. Fabry disease is an inherited X-linked disorder of α-galactosidase deficiency that results in the accumulation of globotriaosylceramide and related neutral glycosphingolipids and may cause a wide range of symptoms affecting multiple systems. We aimed to provide a narrative literature overview of Fabry disease, with a clinical case presentation. Materials and methods. We provided a comprehensive clinical, neurological, laboratory, and instrumental analysis of Fabry disease in a young white adult admitted to the Regional Clinical Center of Neurosurgery and Neurology (Uzhhorod, Ukraine). Results and conclusions. We have presented a brief literature overview of the disease, supported with a clinical case of classic Fabry disease in a young white resident of Transcarpathia.

TL;DR: In this paper, the nanoindentation of binary chalcogenide glasses for bulk and thin-film samples has been used for a step loading procedure, where all components of glass deformation (plastic, elastic, and visco-elastic, or retarded) have been evaluated during the nanoinentation process and an essential redistribution of these components was observed during unloading depending on the composition of the glasses.
Abstract: Nanoscale mechanical properties of As – S binary chalcogenide glasses for bulk and thin-film samples have been studied, using the nanoindentation technique for a step loading procedure. All components of glass deformation (plastic, elastic. and visco-elastic, or retarded) have been evaluated during the nanoindentation process. An essential redistribution of these components was observed during unloading depending on the composition of the glasses. The same nanoindentation procedure was applied to bulk, as-deposited and annealed thin-film samples of the glasses. Plots of deformation components vs. As concentration (or average covalent coordination number ) show a minimum around the As25S75 – As30S70 composition ( ≈ 2.30), which corresponds to the rigidity percolation composition, i. e., the transition from the floppy phase to the intermediate one.

TL;DR: It was found that involvement in the rehabilitation of patients with neglect after a cerebral stroke of mirror therapy in combination with adaptive techniques probably improves motor function, and improves cognitive function.
Abstract: OBJECTIVE Introduction: Iron plays an important role in the functioning of immunological monitoring due to its stimulating and differentiating effect on the immune system. Obesity is accompanied by chronic low grade inflammation and may be accompanied by a change in the concentration of iron in the blood serum. The aim of the study was to determine the level of systemic inflammation in iron deficiency anemia in patients with obesity. PATIENTS AND METHODS Materials and methods: 40 women with iron deficiency anemia (30 with obesity and 10 without obesity) and 10 with obesity of a similar age (control group) participated in the study. We evaluated hemogram parameters, indicators of iron exchange (serum iron, ferritin, hepcidin, total iron binding capacity, transferrin saturation) and inflammatory markers: C-reactive protein and interleukin-6 in the blood serum. RESULTS Results: All patients were females with an average age of 40.3 ± 7.59 years. In the distribution of patients by the cause and the severity degree of iron deficiency anemia, there is no probable difference between the groups. C-reactive protein was significantly higher in women in the control group as compared with the groups of women with iron deficiency anemia (p 0.05). Interleukin-6 also had a higher level in the control group as compared with the groups of women who had iron deficiency anemia (p 0.05). CONCLUSION Conclusions: The level of systemic inflammation in iron deficiency anemia in patients with obesity is lower than in patients with iron deficiency anemia, which was determined by levels of interleukin-6 and C-reactive protein in the blood serum.
