TLDR
The NFS and FIB-4 scores have similar accuracy for advanced fibrosis in patients aged >35 years, however, the specificity forAdvanced fibrosis is unacceptably low in patients ages aged ≥65 years, resulting in a high false positive rate.About:

Fibrosis-4 index predicts long-term all-cause, cardiovascular and liver-related mortality in the adult Korean population.
TL;DR: In this article , the authors evaluated the associations of the fibrosis-4 index (FIB-4) with all-cause, cardiovascular, cancer, and liver-related mortality in the adult Korean population without viral hepatitis.

Non‐alcoholic fatty liver disease and the risk of fibrosis in Italian primary care services
Luca Miele,Ignazio Grattagliano,Francesco Lapi,M Dajko,A. De Magistris,A. Liguori,Nicoletta De Matthaeis,Alessandro Rossi,Antonio Gasbarrini,Claudio Cricelli,Antonio Grieco +10 more
TL;DR: Despite regional variability, a close relation between cirrhosis and NAFLD exists and the use of non-invasive tests should be promoted in primary care as a useful tool for the early identification of fibrosis risk, independently of evidence of steatosis.

Clinical implications of hepatic structure and function evaluation based on vibration-controlled transient elastography and liver maximum function capacity test in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
Valentin Blank,David Petroff,Albrecht Boehlig,Aileen Heinze,Thomas Karlas,Thomas Berg,Johannes Wiegand +6 more
TL;DR: In cases with high liver stiffness or FAST-score, low LiMAx results may identify NAFLD patients at risk for disease progression and reduce the risk of false-positive categorization.

Racial/ethnic differences in fibrosis prevalence and progression in biopsy‐proven steatosis: A focus on the Asian American population
Rebecca G. Kim,Janet N. Chu,Eric Vittinghoff,Jasmine Deng,Jewel N Reaso,James P. Grenert,Mandana Khalili +6 more
TL;DR: In this vulnerable population with a large proportion of Asian Americans, Asian race was associated with progression of fibrosis, and the relative paucity of data in this high‐risk group should be confirmed.

COVID-19 and liver injury: Pathophysiology, risk factors, outcome and management in special populations
TL;DR: In this article , the authors used liver enzymes and radiologic findings to predict the prognosis of COVID-19-associated liver injury. But the exact mechanism of liver injury is still questionable, several mechanisms have been hypothesized, including direct viral effect, cytokine storm, hypoxic-ischemic injury, hypoxia-reperfusion injury, ferroptosis, and hepatotoxic medications.

TL;DR: A strong scoring system and NAS for NAFLD and NASH with reasonable inter‐rater reproducibility that should be useful for studies of both adults and children with any degree ofNAFLD are presented.

Jeffrey D. Browning,Lidia S. Szczepaniak,Robert L. Dobbins,Pamela Nuremberg,Jay D. Horton,Jonathan Cohen,Scott M. Grundy,Helen H. Hobbs +7 more
TL;DR: The prevalence of hepatic steatosis was greater in men than women among whites, but not in blacks or Hispanics, and significant ethnic and sex differences in the prevalence may have a profound impact on susceptibility to Steatosis‐related liver disease.

TL;DR: In conclusion, noninvasive tests can accurately predict hepatic fibrosis and may reduce the need for liver biopsy in the majority of HIV/HCV‐coinfected patients.
