Spectrum of neuroimaging mimics in children with COVID-19 infection
TL;DR: In this paper , a wide spectrum of neurological diseases have been observed in children with COVID-19 infection including encephalitis, acute necrotizing encephalopathy, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, cytotoxic lesion of the callosal splenium, posterior reversible enceopathy syndrome, venous sinus thrombosis, vasculitis and infarction, Guillain-Barré syndrome, transverse myelitis and myositis.

COVID-19 outcomes in patients with familial Mediterranean fever: a retrospective cohort study.
Serdar Can Güven,Abdulsamet Erden,Özlem Karakaş,B. Armagan,Eren Usul,Ahmet Omma,Orhan Küçükşahin +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the course of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), in a cohort of familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) patients in means of mortality, admission to hospital and/or intensive care unit and length of hospital stay.
Journal ArticleDOI
COVID‐19 immunopathology: From acute diseases to chronic sequelae
TL;DR: Some of the recent findings that provide critical insight into the immunopathology caused by SARS‐CoV‐2, in acute and post‐acute cases are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
The misunderstood link between SARS-CoV-2 and angiogenesis. A narrative review.
G. Madureira,R. Soares +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors conducted a narrative review according to the SANRA guidelines to review and discuss data regarding splitting angiogenesis including mechanisms, drivers, regulators and putative roles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytokine profile, ferritin, and multi-visceral involvement characterise macrophage activation syndrome during adult-onset Still's disease.
Piero Ruscitti,Francesco Ursini,Onorina Berardicurti,Francesco Masedu,Emanuele Bozzalla Cassione,Susanna Naldi,Ilenia Di Cola,Claudia Di Muzio,Ludovico De Stefano,E. Di Nino,Luca Navarini,Marta Vomero,Serena Bugatti,Marco Valenti,Erminia Mariani,Annamaria Iagnocco,Carlomaurizio Montecucco,G. Giacomelli,Paola Cipriani +18 more
TL;DR: A multidimensional characterisation of AOSD patients suggested that IFN-γ, IL-10, ferritin, and systemic score discriminated the occurrence of cytokine storm syndrome associated with MAS.

TH1 and TH2 cells: different patterns of lymphokine secretion lead to different functional properties.
Tim R. Mosmann,R L Coffman +1 more
TL;DR: Two types of cloned helper T cells are described, defined primarily by differences in the pattern of lymphokines ynthesized, and the different functions of the two types of cells and their lymphokine synthesis are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
From inflammation to sickness and depression: when the immune system subjugates the brain
TL;DR: In response to a peripheral infection, innate immune cells produce pro-inflammatory cytokines that act on the brain to cause sickness behaviour, which can lead to an exacerbation of sickness and the development of symptoms of depression in vulnerable individuals.
Journal ArticleDOI
IL-17 and Th17 Cells.
TL;DR: The investigation of the differentiation, effector function, and regulation of Th17 cells has opened up a new framework for understanding T cell differentiation and now appreciate the importance of Th 17 cells in clearing pathogens during host defense reactions and in inducing tissue inflammation in autoimmune disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gout-associated uric acid crystals activate the NALP3 inflammasome
TL;DR: It is shown that MSU and CPPD engage the caspase-1-activating NALP3 (also called cryopyrin) inflammasome, resulting in the production of active interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-18 in mice deficient in the IL-1β receptor.
