As an example the optical constants of silver foils in the wavelength interval 4000 to 6000 A are determined.read more

Nano-optics of surface plasmon polaritons
TL;DR: A surface plasmon polariton (SPP) is an electromagnetic excitation existing on the surface of a good metal, whose electromagnetic field decays exponentially with distance from the surface.

Long-range surface plasmon polaritons
TL;DR: Long-range surface plasmon polaritons (LRSPPs) are optical surface waves that propagate along a thin symmetric metal slab or stripe over an appreciable length as discussed by the authors.
