Gestures for touch sensitive input devices

TLDR
In this article, the authors described a system for processing touch inputs with respect to a multipoint sensing device and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multi-point sensing device.
Abstract
Methods and systems for processing touch inputs are disclosed. The invention in one respect includes reading data from a multipoint sensing device such as a multipoint touch screen where the data pertains to touch input with respect to the multipoint sensing device, and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multipoint sensing device.

Detail-in-context lenses for multi-layer images

TL;DR: In this article, a method for editing a multi-layer original image presented on a display is presented, in response to receiving an indication to edit a region of the original image, distorting a predetermined portion of a first layer of the image to produce a distorted image for the region; overlaying the distorted image on a second layer to produce an overlaid image for presentation on the display.

Methods using patient monitoring devices with unique patient IDs and a telemetry system

James Proud
TL;DR: In this paper, patient information is acquired using a patient monitoring device using a unique patient ID, ID circuitry including ID storage, a communication system that reads and transmits the unique ID from an ID storage.

Indirect Multi-Touch Interaction

TL;DR: In this article, a user interface is controlled using a cursor and a touch region comprising a representation of one or more digits of a user, such that the relative location of the touch region and the cursor is maintained.

Method and apparatus for integrating manual input

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple proximity transduction circuit is placed under each electrode to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio and to reduce wiring complexity, and segmentation processing of each proximity image constructs a group of electrodes corresponding to each distinguishable contacts and extracts shape, position and surface proximity features for each group.

Object position detector with edge motion feature and gesture recognition

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method of generating a signal comprising providing a capacitive touch sensor pad including a matrix of X and Y conductors, developing capacitance profiles in one of an X direction and a Y direction from the matrix, and determining an occurrence of a single gesture through an examination of the capacitance profile, the single gesture including an application of at least two objects on the capacitive sensor pad.
