Gestures for touch sensitive input devices

TLDR
In this article, the authors described a system for processing touch inputs with respect to a multipoint sensing device and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multi-point sensing device.
Abstract
Methods and systems for processing touch inputs are disclosed. The invention in one respect includes reading data from a multipoint sensing device such as a multipoint touch screen where the data pertains to touch input with respect to the multipoint sensing device, and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multipoint sensing device.

Multi-screen pinch and expand gestures

TL;DR: In this article, the first and second motion inputs are associated with the recognized first-and second-motion inputs, and a pinch gesture or an expand gesture can then be determined from those inputs.

Mobile communication device user interface

TL;DR: In this paper, a user interface consisting of a main menu having a fixed portion and a movable portion is described for a display of a mobile communication device, where the secondary icons are scrolled in response to a touch input via a touch screen overlaying the display.

Bimodal user interface paradigm for touch screen devices

TL;DR: In this article, a processor is used to determine whether a finger interaction is of a finger-tip interaction type and a fingerpad interaction type based on at least one of a size, a shape, and an orientation of the detected area of finger interaction.

Device, method, and graphical user interface for enabling conversation persistence across two or more instances of a digital assistant

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a procedure for enabling conversation persistence across two or more instances of a digital assistant, where the first dialogue remains available for display in the second instance of the digital assistant user interface.

Method and apparatus for integrating manual input

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple proximity transduction circuit is placed under each electrode to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio and to reduce wiring complexity, and segmentation processing of each proximity image constructs a group of electrodes corresponding to each distinguishable contacts and extracts shape, position and surface proximity features for each group.

Object position detector with edge motion feature and gesture recognition

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method of generating a signal comprising providing a capacitive touch sensor pad including a matrix of X and Y conductors, developing capacitance profiles in one of an X direction and a Y direction from the matrix, and determining an occurrence of a single gesture through an examination of the capacitance profile, the single gesture including an application of at least two objects on the capacitive sensor pad.
