Gestures for touch sensitive input devices

TLDR
In this article, the authors described a system for processing touch inputs with respect to a multipoint sensing device and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multi-point sensing device.
Abstract
Methods and systems for processing touch inputs are disclosed. The invention in one respect includes reading data from a multipoint sensing device such as a multipoint touch screen where the data pertains to touch input with respect to the multipoint sensing device, and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multipoint sensing device.

Using touches to transfer information between devices

TL;DR: In this paper, a processor can obtain a first set of one or more touches on a remote surface of a remote device based on a signal received on a communication link between the device and the remote device, and determine whether the information is to be used to obtain content based on the gesture.

System and method for display of multiple data channels on a single haptic display

TL;DR: In this paper, a system that produces a haptic effect and generates a drive signal that includes at least two haptic effects each having a priority level is described, i.e., a combination of the two haaptic effect signals and priority levels.

Pressure-sensitive manipulation of displayed objects

TL;DR: In this paper, the first and second objects are displayed on a pressure-sensitive touch-screen display device and the movement of the input mechanism is tracked while it remains in contact with the display device.

Metadata-Assisted Image Filters

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present devices, methods, systems, and computer readable media for generating and interpreting image metadata to determine input parameters for various image processing routines, e.g., filters that distort or enhance an image, in a way that provides an intuitive experience for both the user and the software developer.

Touch screen device, method, and graphical user interface for customizing display of content category icons

TL;DR: In this paper, a computer-implemented method for use in conjunction with a computing device with a touch screen display comprises: detecting one or more finger contacts with the touch screen, applying one or several heuristics to the finger contacts to determine a command for the device, and processing the command.

Method and apparatus for integrating manual input

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple proximity transduction circuit is placed under each electrode to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio and to reduce wiring complexity, and segmentation processing of each proximity image constructs a group of electrodes corresponding to each distinguishable contacts and extracts shape, position and surface proximity features for each group.

User interface

TL;DR: A user interface is that portion of an interactive computer system that communicates with the user as mentioned in this paper. User interfaces include any aspect of the system that is visible to the user, such as a keyboard, mouse, or display.

Object position detector with edge motion feature and gesture recognition

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method of generating a signal comprising providing a capacitive touch sensor pad including a matrix of X and Y conductors, developing capacitance profiles in one of an X direction and a Y direction from the matrix, and determining an occurrence of a single gesture through an examination of the capacitance profile, the single gesture including an application of at least two objects on the capacitive sensor pad.
