Gestures for touch sensitive input devices

TLDR
In this article, the authors described a system for processing touch inputs with respect to a multipoint sensing device and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multi-point sensing device.
Abstract
Methods and systems for processing touch inputs are disclosed. The invention in one respect includes reading data from a multipoint sensing device such as a multipoint touch screen where the data pertains to touch input with respect to the multipoint sensing device, and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multipoint sensing device.

Moire-Free Touch Screen with Tilted or Curved ITO Pattern

TL;DR: In this paper, the columns (drive or sense lines) of a touch sensor panel can be oriented at an angle with respect to a display device so that the columns are not parallel with the sub-pixel and pixel arrangements of the display device.

Presenting an application change through a tile

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe techniques and apparatuses for presenting an application change through a tile, which enables a user to see content associated with content changes to an application or other information about the application, such as a new article, new email, or a software update having become available since a user last visited the application.

Recommending media items

TL;DR: In this article, a portion of a user's media library is transferred to an electronic device so that the user may discover the portion of the media library and the user can accept or reject recommended media items as they are played back to adjust the user's preference profile.

Haptic feedback system

TL;DR: In this article, localized haptic feedback at discrete locations or regions of a surface is disclosed, where the nodes can be located around the perimeter of the surface, where each node can be associated with a particular location or region of the surfaces and can provide haptic information to that particular location when the node is selected.

Method and apparatus for integrating manual input

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple proximity transduction circuit is placed under each electrode to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio and to reduce wiring complexity, and segmentation processing of each proximity image constructs a group of electrodes corresponding to each distinguishable contacts and extracts shape, position and surface proximity features for each group.

User interface

TL;DR: A user interface is that portion of an interactive computer system that communicates with the user as mentioned in this paper. User interfaces include any aspect of the system that is visible to the user, such as a keyboard, mouse, or display.

Object position detector with edge motion feature and gesture recognition

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method of generating a signal comprising providing a capacitive touch sensor pad including a matrix of X and Y conductors, developing capacitance profiles in one of an X direction and a Y direction from the matrix, and determining an occurrence of a single gesture through an examination of the capacitance profile, the single gesture including an application of at least two objects on the capacitive sensor pad.
