TLDR
It is shown that hedgehog signaling rewires cellular metabolism and is identified a cilium-dependent Smo-Ca(2+)-Ampk axis that triggers rapid Warburg-like metabolic reprogramming within minutes of activation and is required for proper metabolic selectivity and flexibility.

The mechanisms of Hedgehog signalling and its roles in development and disease.

TL;DR: Novel biological insights are revealed into the function of HH lipidation in the secretion and transport of this ligand and details of the signal transduction pathway, which involves Patched 1, Smoothened and GLI proteins, as well as, in vertebrates, primary cilia.

NAFLD as a Sexual Dimorphic Disease: Role of Gender and Reproductive Status in the Development and Progression of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Inherent Cardiovascular Risk.

TL;DR: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) spans steatosis through nonalcoholic steatohepatis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma associated with striking systemic features and excess cardiovascular and liver-related mortality.

Proteomics of Primary Cilia by Proximity Labeling

TL;DR: This work demonstrates that proximity labeling can be applied to proteomics of non-membrane-enclosed organelles and suggests that proteomics profiling of cilia will enable a rapid and powerful characterization of ciliopathies.

Mutations affecting segment number and polarity in Drosophila

TL;DR: The phenotypes of the mutant embryos indicate that the process of segmentation involves at least three levels of spatial organization: the entire egg as developmental unit, a repeat unit with the length of two segments, and the individual segment.

AMPK regulates energy expenditure by modulating NAD + metabolism and SIRT1 activity

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that AMPK controls the expression of genes involved in energy metabolism in mouse skeletal muscle by acting in coordination with another metabolic sensor, the NAD+-dependent type III deacetylase SIRT1.
