Addressing problems of conceptualization and construct validity in researching teachers’ job satisfaction

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify the ambiguity of the meaning of job satisfaction, emanating from the distinction between the meanings of "satisfactory" and'satisfying' and suggest that neglect of this ambiguity, along with a more general prevalent conceptual vagueness, has led to problems of construct validity in much research in this field.

Brandfests: Servicescapes for the Cultivation of Brand Equity

Abstract: This paper presents an ethnography of the brandfest, a brand centered event that is strategically important to the cultivation of customer loyalty. The paper discusses specifically the mechanisms and processes that appear to be integral to building such relationships as those between consumers and the products that they own, and among consumers themselves. We conclude with a discussion of directions for future research.
