TLDR
In this article, a review examines physico-chemical requirements necessary to achieve stimuli-responsiveness in heterogeneous polymer networks as well as discusses recent developments and future trends while individual structural components of polymeric networks are responsible for localized chainresponsiveness, desirable spatial and energetic network properties are necessary for collective and orchestrated responsiveness to external or internal stimuli.About:

A New Family of Thermo-, pH-, and CO2-Responsive Homopolymers of Poly[Oligo(ethylene glycol) (N-dialkylamino) methacrylate]s
TL;DR: In this article, a new family of thermo-, pH-, and CO2-responsive homopolymers of poly[oligo(ethylene glycol) (N-dialkylamino) methacrylate]s combining the pendants of oligo ethylene glycol (OEG) moiety and dialkylamine are synthesized by RAFT polymerization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Polymer Brush-Functionalized Surfaces with Reversible, Precisely Controllable Two-Way Responsive Wettability
TL;DR: In this article, ABC-type block copolymers of tert-butyl methacrylate (tBMA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacricyl (HEMA), and 2-(diisopropylamino)ethyl methacelate (DPAEMA) were synthesized through living radical polymerization mediated by a reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) process and then grafted onto acyl chloride group-functionalized SiO2 films to produce V-shaped polymer brushes with two arms of PDPAEMA and PMAA.

Multiresponsive micellar systems from photocleavable block copolymers
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the synthesis and associating behavior in water of a multiresponsive amphiphilic diblock copolymer, which is composed of an hydrophobic photocleavable poly(para-methoxyphenacyl methacrylate) block (PMPMA) and a hydrophilic thermosensitive poly[(oligo ethylene glycol)methACrylate] block (POEGMA).

How useful is SBF in predicting in vivo bone bioactivity
Tadashi Kokubo,Hiroaki Takadama +1 more
TL;DR: Examination of apatite formation on a material in SBF is useful for predicting the in vivo bone bioactivity of a material, and the number of animals used in and the duration of animal experiments can be reduced remarkably by using this method.

Photomechanics: directed bending of a polymer film by light.
TL;DR: It is shown that a single film of a liquid-crystal network containing an azobenzene chromophore can be repeatedly and precisely bent along any chosen direction by using linearly polarized light.
