The Carbon Monoxide-binding Pigment of Liver Microsomes I. EVIDENCE FOR ITS HEMOPROTEIN NATURE
Tsuneo Omura,Ryo Sato +1 more
TLDR
The present paper gives a detailed account of the investigations on rabbit liver microsomes and crude microsomal digests, which have led to postulate the hemoprotein nature of the pigment.About:

Hemoglobin-free perfusion of rat liver
Roland Scholz,Theodor Bücher +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a rat liver was extracorporally perfused by a hemoglobin-free fluid of restricted complexity, which is used as a reference to measure the oxygen consumption of the liver.

Prokaryotic Expression of the Heme- and Flavin-Binding Domains of Rat Neuronal Nitric Oxide Synthase as Distinct Polypeptides: Identification of the Heme-Binding Proximal Thiolate Ligand as Cysteine-415
TL;DR: The bacterial expression of the NO synthase heme-binding oxygenase and flavoprotein oxidoreductase domains as isolated proteins with specific properties of the intact enzyme represents an important development in structure-function studies of this complex enzyme.

Metabolism of phenanthrene by the white rot fungus Pleurotus ostreatus.
TL;DR: These experiments with cytochrome P-450 inhibitors and 18O2 labeling and the formation of phenanthrene trans-9R,10R-dihydrodiol as the predominant metabolite suggest that P. ostreatus initially oxidizesphenanthrene stereoselectively by a cyto chrome P- 450 monoxygenase and that this is followed by epoxide hydrolase-catalyzed hydration reactions.

Changes in amounts of cytochrome P450 isozymes and levels of catalytic activities in hepatic and renal microsomes of rats with streptozocin-induced diabetes
TL;DR: The induction and suppression of cytochrome P450 isozymes in diabetic rats were consistent with the changes in the catalytic activities, and altered metabolism of ketones and fatty acids in diabetes may contribute to these changes.

Cytochrome P4501A (CYP1A) in teleostean fishes. A review of immunohistochemical studies
Carmen Sarasquete,Helmut Segner +1 more
TL;DR: The liver is the major organ of CYP1A activity in fish, but the enzyme is additionally expressed in numerous extrahepatic organs, including kidney, alimentary canal, heart, gills, olfactory system, gonads, brain and endocrine tissues.

Hepatic Triphosphopyridine Nucleotide-Cytochrome c Reductase: Isolation, Characterization, and Kinetic Studies
TL;DR: Evidence is presented which suggests that this enzyme participates in a microsomal elect, ron transport system which does not include cytochrome c and kinetic evidence has been obtained which allows certain conclusions to be drawn concerning the mechanism of catalysis by this enzyme.

Microsomal triphosphopyridine nucleotide-cytochrome c reductase of liver.
Charles Williams,Henry Kamin +1 more
TL;DR: The biological role of reduced triphosphopyridine nucleotide (TPNH) and the metabolic pathways of its hydrogen atom and electron appear to be fundamentally different from those of reduced diphosphipyridineucleotide (DPNH).
