Effects of cervical dislocation on colony-forming cells in murine marrow cultures.

TL;DR: Bone marrow obtained in a conventional manner after killing mice by cervical dislocation demonstrates increased absolute numbers of GM-CFC when compared to that from living anesthetized mice, and interpretation of the results must take this observation into account.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intrinsically Hyperactive and Hyperproliferative CD8 + T Cells In Cmah -/- Mice as a Model of Human Gene Transfer Responses.

TL;DR: It is shown that hyperactivation and hyperproliferation is a T cell intrinsic mechanism, that the response can be blunted when the cells are fed the missing sialic acid (Neu5Gc) in culture, and that Cmah -/- T cells produce more IFNg when stimulated with PMA or anti-CD3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Passing the baton at high speed: time to hand over to a new editorial board.

TL;DR: The next issue of The Journal will carry an Editorial by Dr. Weiss, in which he will outline his plans for the next five years, and will focus here upon the modifications that the La Jolla group has made in the JCI during the last five years.
