Single-Cell Analysis of Human Mononuclear Phagocytes Reveals Subset-Defining Markers and Identifies Circulating Inflammatory Dendritic Cells.
Charles-Antoine Dutertre,Charles-Antoine Dutertre,Etienne Becht,Sergio Erdal Irac,Sergio Erdal Irac,Ahad Khalilnezhad,Ahad Khalilnezhad,Vipin Narang,Shabnam Khalilnezhad,Pei Y. Ng,Lucas L van den Hoogen,Jing Yao Leong,Bernett Lee,Marion Chevrier,Xiao Meng Zhang,Pearly Yong,Geraldine Koh,Josephine Lum,Shanshan W. Howland,Esther Wing Hei Mok,Jinmiao Chen,Anis Larbi,Henry K.K. Tan,Tony Kiat Hon Lim,Panagiota Karagianni,Athanasios G. Tzioufas,Benoit Malleret,Benoit Malleret,Joshua Brody,Salvatore Albani,Joel A G van Roon,Timothy R D J Radstake,Evan W. Newell,Florent Ginhoux,Florent Ginhoux +34 more
TL;DR: High-dimensional single-cell protein and RNA expression data is integrated to identify distinct markers to delineate monocytes from conventional DC2 (cDC2s), further unravel the heterogeneity of DC subpopulations in health and disease and may pave the way for the identification of specific DC subset-targeting therapies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Induced-Pluripotent-Stem-Cell-Derived Primitive Macrophages Provide a Platform for Modeling Tissue-Resident Macrophage Differentiation and Function.
Kazuyuki Takata,Kazuyuki Takata,Tatsuya Kozaki,Christopher Z. W. Lee,Morgane Sonia Thion,Masayuki Otsuka,Shawn Lim,Kagistia Hana Utami,Kerem Fidan,Dong Shin Park,Benoit Malleret,Benoit Malleret,Svetoslav Chakarov,Peter See,Donovan Low,Gillian Low,Marta Garcia-Miralles,Ruizhu Zeng,Jinqiu Zhang,Chi Ching Goh,Ahmet Gül,Sandra Hubert,Bernett Lee,Jinmiao Chen,Ivy Low,Nurhidaya Binte Shadan,Josephine Lum,Tay Seok Wei,Esther Wing Hei Mok,Shohei Kawanishi,Yoshihisa Kitamura,Anis Larbi,Michael Poidinger,Laurent Rénia,Lai Guan Ng,Yochai Wolf,Steffen Jung,Tamer T. Onder,Evan W. Newell,Tara Huber,Eishi Ashihara,Sonia Garel,Mahmoud A. Pouladi,Mahmoud A. Pouladi,Florent Ginhoux +44 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that iPSCs can generate YS macrophage‐like cells (iMacs) that differentiate into functional tissue‐resident macrophages‐ like cells upon receiving organ‐specific cues, thus providing a platform for modeling tissue‐ resident macrophAGE precursors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Human fetal dendritic cells promote prenatal T-cell immune suppression through arginase-2
Naomi McGovern,Amanda Shin,Amanda Shin,Gillian Low,Donovan Low,Kaibo Duan,Leong Jing Yao,Rasha Msallam,Ivy Low,Nurhidaya Binte Shadan,Hermi Sumatoh,Erin Soon,Josephine Lum,Esther Wing Hei Mok,Sandra Hubert,Peter See,Edwin Huang Kunxiang,Yie Hou Lee,Yie Hou Lee,Baptiste Janela,Mahesh Choolani,Citra Nurfarah Zaini Mattar,Yiping Fan,Yiping Fan,Tony Kiat Hon Lim,Dedrick Kok Hong Chan,Ker-Kan Tan,Ker-Kan Tan,John Kit Chung Tam,Christopher Schuster,Adelheid Elbe-Bürger,Xiao-Nong Wang,Venetia Bigley,Matthew Collin,Muzlifah Haniffa,Andreas Schlitzer,Andreas Schlitzer,Andreas Schlitzer,Michael Poidinger,Salvatore Albani,Anis Larbi,Evan W. Newell,Jerry Kok Yen Chan,Florent Ginhoux +43 more
TL;DR: The results reveal a previously unappreciated role of dendritic cells within the developing fetus and indicate that they mediate homeostatic immune-suppressive responses during gestation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inflammatory and immune markers associated with physical frailty syndrome: findings from Singapore longitudinal aging studies.
Yanxia Lu,Crystal Tze Ying Tan,Ma Shwe Zin Nyunt,Esther Wing Hei Mok,Xavier Camous,Hassen Kared,Tamas Fulop,Liang Feng,Tze Pin Ng,Anis Larbi,Anis Larbi +10 more
TL;DR: An association between inflammation, cellular immunity, and the process of frailty is supported, which has significance for the early identification ofFrailty using circulating biomarkers prior to clinical manifestations of severe functional decline in the elderly.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping of γ/δ T cells reveals Vδ2+ T cells resistance to senescence.
Weili Xu,Weili Xu,Gianni Monaco,Gianni Monaco,Eleanor Huijin Wong,Wilson Lek Wen Tan,Hassen Kared,Yannick Simoni,Shu Wen Tan,Shu Wen Tan,Wilson How,Crystal Tze Ying Tan,Bernett Lee,Daniel Carbajo,Kandhadayar G. Srinivasan,Ivy Low,Esther Wing Hei Mok,Shihui Foo,Josephine Lum,Hong Liang Tey,Wee Ping Tan,Michael Poidinger,Evan W. Newell,Tze Pin Ng,Roger Foo,Arne N. Akbar,Tamas Fulop,Anis Larbi +27 more
TL;DR: The data shows that peripheral Vδ2+ phenotype, functional capacity and gene expression profile are specific when compared against all other αβ and γδ T cells in aging, reinforcing the concept that Vε2+ have an “innate-like” behavior and are more resilient to the environment as compared to “adaptive- like” V δ1+ T cells.
