Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxic activity and cellular processing in human ovarian carcinoma cell lines of a new platinum(II) compound containing a fluorescent substituted propylene diamine ligand.

TL;DR: The results suggest that cis-[Pt(bapda)Cl2] is not susceptible to the inactivation by GSH, and interactions of this new platinum(II) compound with calf thymus DNA strongly suggests that it intercalates between the DNA base pairs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal structures, electrical conductivity and band-structure calculations of three new [cation][Ni(C3S5)2]2 compounds

TL;DR: The mixed-valence radical salts [smdt], [dmp], [Ni(C3S5)2]21, [dmm], [nmm]23 and [c3S2]2] have been obtained by electrochemical oxidation of the corresponding [cation]−Ni(S5)-2] complexes in acetonitrile as discussed by the authors, and all three crystallise in essentially the same packing mode.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stabilisation of a very short Cu-F bond within the protected cavity of a copper(II) compound from a tris(2-aminoethyl)amine derivative

TL;DR: The copper(ii) coordination compound of an N-functionalised derivative of tris(2-aminoethyl)amine forms a cavity that is an excellent fluoride ion host, generating a Cu-F entity with a very short distance and characterised by a fluoride ion devoid of any additional intermolecular interactions.
Journal ArticleDOI

The first report of the isolation and characterisation of an intermediate formed upon photolysis of a ruthenium(II) diimine compound, in which one of the chelating ligands is bound in a monodentate fashion

TL;DR: In this paper, the isolation and characterisation of an intermediate produced upon photolysis of [Ru(bipy)2(L−L′)](PF6)2 in MeCN [bipY = 2,2′-bipyridyl and L-L′= 4-methyl-3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole], in which L −L′ is coordinated to the metal center in a monodentate fashion, via the nitrogen of the triazole ring,
