Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of the potential of cancer chemopreventive activity mediated by inhibition of 12-O-tetradecanoyl phorbol 13-acetate-induced ornithine decarboxylase activity.

TL;DR: A chemically diverse group of compounds was included in the evaluation, such as flavonoids, retinoids, isothiocyanates, sulfur-containing compounds and phenolic antioxidant compounds, and showed potent inhibitory effects in this process to understand the cancer chemopreventive potential mediated by these substances.
Journal ArticleDOI

Estrous cycle status alters N-methyl-N-nitrosourea (NMU)-induced rat mammary tumor growth and regression.

TL;DR: Observations generalize the concept that estrous cycle stage at the time of NMU injection alters subsequent mammary carcinoma biology, and represents the first experimental evidence that slower growing and responding estrogen receptor positive rat Mammary carcinomas may be associated with an increase in circulating estrogen prior to carcinogen exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxic sesquiterpenoids from Ratibida columnifera.

TL;DR: Results indicate that compound 5 acts as a cytotoxic agent via a novel mechanism, but this substance was inactive in in vivo evaluations using the murine lung carcinoma and human colon carcinoma models.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pseudolaric acid B: NMR assignments, conformational analysis and cytotoxicity

TL;DR: In this paper, the proton and carbon spectra for pseudolaric acid B (1) were assigned using a combination of one-and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopic techniques.
