Constituents of the stems of Macrococculus pomiferus and their inhibitory activities against cyclooxygenases-1 and -2.
Bao-Ning Su,William P. Jones,Muriel Cuendet,Leonardus B.S. Kardono,Rachman Ismail,Soedarsono Riswan,Harry H. S. Fong,Norman R. Farnsworth,John M. Pezzuto,A. Douglas Kinghorn +9 more
TL;DR: The EtOAc-soluble extract of the stems of M. pomiferus was found to inhibit the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and led to the isolation of two dibenzylbutyrolactone lignans and seven known compounds.

TL;DR: Two new helvolic acid analogues and one new fumagillin derivative containing an octahydroisobenzofuran moiety, together with four known compounds, were isolated from an Aspergillus terreus, isolated from soil collected from Mauna Kea, the highest mountain in Hawaii.
Journal ArticleDOI
Irisones A and B: two new isoflavones from Iris missouriensis.
Sui Ming Wong,Chohachi Konno,Yoshiteru Oshima,John M. Pezzuto,Harry H. S. Fong,Norman R. Farnsworth +5 more
TL;DR: Two new isoflavones, irisones A and B, together with the known compound, 5,7-dihydroxy-2',6-dimethoxy is oflavone, were isolated from the roots of Iris missouriensis with the help of 2D-homonuclear-J-correlation and2D-nOe experiments.

Resveratrol inhibits rhabdomyosarcoma cell proliferation.
A W Chow,Genoveva Murillo,Chongwoo Yu,RB van Breemen,A. W. Boddie,John M. Pezzuto,T. K. Das Gupta,Rajendra G. Mehta +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that resveratrol exerts a strong inhibition of rhabdomyosarcoma cell proliferation in part by arresting cells in S/G2 phase of the cell cycle.
