TL;DR: The white paper summarizes the workshop "U.S. Cosmic Visions: New Ideas in Dark Matter" held at University of Maryland on March 23-25, 2017.
Journal ArticleDOI
First Penning-trap mass measurement of the exotic halo nucleus 11Li.
M. Smith,M. Smith,Maxime Brodeur,Maxime Brodeur,Thomas Brunner,Thomas Brunner,S. Ettenauer,S. Ettenauer,Alain Lapierre,Ryan Ringle,V. L. Ryjkov,Friedhelm Ames,Pierre Bricault,Gordon W. F. Drake,P. P. J. Delheij,D. Lunney,D. Lunney,F. Sarazin,Jens Dilling,Jens Dilling +19 more
TL;DR: A new mass for 11Li is reported using the trapping experiment TITAN at TRIUMF's ISAC facility, which derives a new two-neutron separation energy of 369.15(65) keV: a factor of 7 more precise than the best previous value.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mass measurements on highly charged radioactive ions, a new approach to high precision with TITAN
Jens Dilling,Richard Baartman,P. Bricault,Maxime Brodeur,L. Blomeley,F. Buchinger,J. E. Crawford,J. R. Crespo López-Urrutia,P. Delheij,M. Froese,Gerald Gwinner,Z. Ke,J. K. P. Lee,R. B. Moore,V. Ryjkov,G. Sikler,M. Smith,Joachim Ullrich,J. Vaz +18 more
TL;DR: The TITAN (TRIUMF's Ion Trap for Atomic and Nuclear science) is a system of multiple ion traps installed at the radioactive ion beam facility ISAC as discussed by the authors, which is capable of delivering a broad variety of radioactive species with unsurpassed production yields, making it the facility of choice for a next generation ion trap facility.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, a review paper was initiated at a three week International Collaborations in Nuclear Theory program in June 2016, where they explored promising r-process experiments and discussed their likely impact, and their astronomical, astrophysical, and nuclear theory context.
Journal ArticleDOI
First use of high charge states for mass measurements of short-lived nuclides in a Penning trap.
S. Ettenauer,S. Ettenauer,M.C. Simon,Aaron Gallant,Aaron Gallant,T. Brunner,T. Brunner,U. Chowdhury,U. Chowdhury,Vanessa V. Simon,Vanessa V. Simon,Vanessa V. Lunney,M. R. Pearson,Ryan Ringle,Joachim Ullrich,Jens Dilling,Jens Dilling +30 more
TL;DR: Penning trap mass measurements of short-lived nuclides have been performed for the first time with highly charged ions, using the TITAN facility at TRIUMF, and the determination of its atomic mass and an improved Q(EC) value are presented.
