Journal ArticleDOI

cAMP immunocytochemistry provides evidence for functional VIP receptors in trachea.

TL;DR: It is concluded that ferret tracheal epithelium and dog epithelial goblet cells showed little or no reactivity after VIP, and thus it is believed that these cells lack VIP receptors, and therefore participate in VIP-stimulated responses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human lung adrenoreceptors studied by radioligand binding.

TL;DR: Specificity of [3H]dihydroalprenolol binding suggested that the population of lung beta-adrenoreceptors is predominantly of the beta 2 subtype, which correlated well with known physiological potencies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of β2-adrenoceptor agonists and other cAMP-elevating agents on inflammatory gene expression in human ASM cells: a role for protein kinase A

TL;DR: Results indicate that repression of IL-1beta-induced ICAM-1 expression and GM-CSF release by cAMP-elevating agents, including beta(2)-adrenoceptor agonists, may not occur through a generic effect on NF-kappaB.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of neurokinin A and substance P on cardiovascular and airway function in man.

TL;DR: The airway and cardiovascular effects of intravenous neurokinin A (NKA) and substance P (SP) were compared in six normal subjects, but SP was more potent than NKA by factors of 6 and 20 respectively.
