A Pilot Study of Blood Epinephrine Levels and CREB Phosphorylation in Men Undergoing Prostate Biopsies
Sazzad Hassan,Yelena Karpova,Anabel Flores,Ralph B. D'Agostino,Suzanne C. Danhauer,Ashok K. Hemal,George Kulik +6 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that increased blood epinephrine levels activate the beta2-adrenoreceptor/PKA signaling pathway in human prostate glands, and will inform future studies to examine whetherbeta2-selective blockers can inhibit activation of the epinphrine/ADRB2/Pka pathway in prostate tumors of men with increased epine cortisol levels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in Diabetes Medication Regimens and Glycemic Control in Adolescents and Young Adults With Youth-Onset Type 2 Diabetes: The SEARCH for Diabetes in Youth Study
Cathy Anne Pinto,Jeanette M. Stafford,Tongtong Wang,R. Ravi Shankar,Jean M. Lawrence,Grace Kim,Catherine Pihoker,Ralph B. D'Agostino,Dana Dabelea +8 more
TL;DR: The aim of this study was to describe recent medication patterns and changes in medication pattern and glycemic control in adolescents and young adults with incident type 2 diabetes (T2D).
Journal ArticleDOI
Update on fibrinogen as a major cardiovascular risk factor: The framingham study
Journal ArticleDOI
Local control outcomes for combination of stereotactic radiosurgery and immunotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer brain metastases
Mohammed Abdulhaleem,Hannah Elizabeth Johnston,Ralph B. D'Agostino,C.M. Lanier,Michael C. LeCompte,Christina K. Cramer,Jimmy Ruiz,Thomas Lycan,Hui-Wen Lo,Kuonosuke Watabe,Stacey S O'Neill,C. Whitlow,J. White,Stephen B. Tatter,Adrian W. Laxton,Jing Su,Michael D. Chan +16 more
TL;DR: The clinical outcomes of 80 consecutive lung cancer patients treated with concurrent immune checkpoint inhibitors and stereotactic radiosurgery were compared to 235 in the historical control cohort, suggesting that brain metastasis patients may benefit from concurrent use of immunotherapy with SRS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Albuminuria according to status of autoimmunity and insulin sensitivity among youth with type 1 and type 2 diabetes
Amy K. Mottl,Abigail Lauer,Dana Dabelea,David M. Maahs,Ralph B. D'Agostino,L. M. Dolan,Lisa K. Gilliam,Jean M. Lawrence,Beatriz L. Rodriguez,Santica M. Marcovina,Giuseppina Imperatore,Roopa Kanakatti Shankar,Maryam Afkarian,Kristi Reynolds,Angela D. Liese,Michael Mauer,Elizabeth J. Mayer-Davis +16 more
TL;DR: In youth with diabetes, the DAA−/IR group had a greater UACR than all other groups, possibly because of the greater magnitude of insulin resistance.
