Consensus guidelines for the detection of immunogenic cell death

Oliver Kepp, +81 more
- 29 Oct 2014 -
TL;DR: Strategies conceived to detect surrogate markers of ICD in vitro and to screen large chemical libraries for putative I CD inducers are outlined, based on a high-content, high-throughput platform that was recently developed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of CD56-/CD16+ natural killer (NK) cells: a highly dysfunctional NK subset expanded in HIV-infected viremic individuals.

TL;DR: It is suggested that the expansion of this highly dysfunctional CD56(-)/CD16(+) (CD56(-)) NK cell subset in HIV-viremic individuals largely accounts for the impaired function of the total NK cell population.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural killer cell functional dichotomy in chronic hepatitis B and chronic hepatitis C virus infections.

TL;DR: Evidence is provided for a functional dichotomy in patients with chronic HBV and HCV infections, featuring conserved or enhanced cytolytic activity and dysfunctional cytokine production, which may contribute to virus persistence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural killer cells in HIV-1 infection: Dichotomous effects of viremia on inhibitory and activating receptors and their functional correlates

TL;DR: An expansion of the functionally defective CD56-/CD16+ population of NK cells in viremic versus aviremic patients is demonstrated and functional tests confirmed that the abnormal expression of the activating receptors and of iNKRs was associated with a markedly impaired NK cytolytic function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Classification of current anticancer immunotherapies

Lorenzo Galluzzi, +98 more
- 30 Dec 2014 -
TL;DR: A critical, integrated classification of anticancer immunotherapies is proposed and the clinical relevance of these approaches is discussed.
