TL;DR: In this article, the inventory replenishment policy over a fixed planning period for a deteriorating item having a deterministic demand pattern with a linear trend and shortages is considered, and the number of reorders, the interval between two successive reorders and the shortage intervals over a finite time-horizon are all determined in an optimal manner so as to keep the average system cost to a minimum.
Abstract: We consider here the inventory replenishment policy over a fixed planning period for a deteriorating item having a deterministic demand pattern with a linear trend and shortages. The number of reorders, the interval between two successive reorders and the shortage intervals over a finite time-horizon are all determined in an optimal manner so as to keep the average system cost to a minimum. One numerical example illustrates how the procedure works. The counterpart of this example in the no-shortage case is also given. The effects of variation in the deterioration rate on the optimal policy are also indicated with numerical examples.

TL;DR: Much research is required to find out new therapeutic agent/strategies for an adequate pharmacotherapy of diabetes nephropathy, where the involvement of multiple mechanisms makes it difficult to choose an optimum therapeutic agent.

TL;DR: A simple surfactant assisted aqueous solution approach, based on the conventional Tollen's reaction has been applied for the facile syntheses of silver nano-assembly as discussed by the authors, which is evident in very low (4 lg/ml) inhibitory concentration (MIC) value for Escherichia coli, Vibrio cholerae, Shigella flexneri, Salmonella typhimurium and three varieties of Staphylococcus aureus.

TL;DR: In this paper, a finite time-horizon deterministic economic order quantity (EOQ) inventory model with shortages was developed, where the demand rate at any instant depends on the on-hand inventory (stock level) at that instant.
