TL;DR: Graphene-polyaniline composites have been synthesized using simple chemical procedure in two different ways (i) by mixing of the pre-synthesized graphene and polyanILine nanofibers and (ii) by in situ polymerization in presence of graphite oxide followed by further reduction.

TL;DR: Strain RG3T produced cellulose in both nitrogen-free broth and enriched medium and exhibited low values of 5.2-27.2 % DNA-DNA relatedness to the type strains of related gluconacetobacters, which placed it within a separate taxon.
Abstract: A few members of the family Acetobacteraceae are cellulose-producers, while only six members fix nitrogen. Bacterial strain RG3T, isolated from Kombucha tea, displays both of these characteristics. A high bootstrap value in the 16S rRNA gene sequence-based phylogenetic analysis supported the position of this strain within the genus Gluconacetobacter, with Gluconacetobacter hansenii LMG 1527T as its nearest neighbour (99.1 % sequence similarity). It could utilize ethanol, fructose, arabinose, glycerol, sorbitol and mannitol, but not galactose or xylose, as sole sources of carbon. Single amino acids such as l-alanine, l-cysteine and l-threonine served as carbon and nitrogen sources for growth of strain RG3T. Strain RG3T produced cellulose in both nitrogen-free broth and enriched medium. The ubiquinone present was Q-10 and the DNA base composition was 55.8 mol% G+C. It exhibited low values of 5.2–27.77 % DNA–DNA relatedness to the type strains of related gluconacetobacters, which placed it within a separate taxon, for which the name Gluconacetobacter kombuchae sp. nov. is proposed, with the type strain RG3T (=LMG 23726T=MTCC 6913T).

TL;DR: It has been found that the yield of the piezoelectric phase is increased by the addition of silver nanoparticles and defects in the P(VDF-HFP) electrospun fibers are removed resulting in a significant enhancement in the output power of the PNG.
Abstract: We report on the electrospinning of poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene) [P(VDF-HFP)] nanofibers doped with silver nanoparticles for the preparation of a polymer based nanogenerator (PNG). It has been found that the yield of the piezoelectric phase is increased by the addition of silver nanoparticles. Furthermore, defects in the P(VDF-HFP) electrospun fibers are removed resulting in a significant enhancement in the output power of the PNG. A maximum generated PNG output voltage of 3 V with a current density of 0.9 μA cm(-2) is achieved.

TL;DR: Neuropharmacological studies were conducted in experimental animals (rats and mice) with the methanolic fraction of Bryophyllum pinnatum leaf extract.
Abstract: Neuropharmacological studies were conducted in experimental animals (rats and mice) with the methanolic fraction of Bryophyllum pinnatum leaf extract. The fraction produced alteration of behaviour pattern, caused dose-dependent potentiation of pentobarbitone sleeping time and had significant analgesic activity. Significant reduction of exploratory behaviour and loss of residual curiosity were among the effects observed with the fraction. The observations suggest that the methanolic fraction of Bryophyllum pinnatum possesses a potent CNS depressant action.

01 Sep 2017TL;DR: A prototype of internet-of-thing based E-parking system that uses an integrated component called parking meter to address the above-mentioned issues as well as to provide smart parking management throughout the city.
Abstract: The increasing number of vehicles on the road along with the mismanagement of available parking space leads to the parking related problems as well as increased traffic congestion in urban areas. Thus it is highly required to develop an automated smart parking management system that would help the driver to find out some suitable parking space for his/her vehicle very quickly. Although ample amount of research works on the development of smart parking system exist in literature, but most of them have not addressed the problem of real-time detection of improper parking and automatic collection of parking charges. In this paper, a prototype of internet-of-thing based E-parking system is proposed. The proposed E-parking system uses an integrated component called parking meter to address the above-mentioned issues as well as to provide smart parking management throughout the city.
