Supramolecular coordination: self-assembly of finite two- and three-dimensional ensembles.
TL;DR: In the early 1960s, the discovery of crown ethers and spherands by Pedersen, Lehn, and Cram3 led to the realization that small, complementary molecules can be made to recognize each other through non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen-bonding, charge-charge, donor-acceptor, π-π, van der Waals, hydrophilic and hydrophobic interactions to achieve these highly complex and often symmetrical architectures as mentioned in this paper.

Zr-based metal-organic frameworks: design, synthesis, structure, and applications.
TL;DR: Advances in Zr-MOFs since 2008 are summarized and reviewed from three aspects: design and synthesis, structure, and applications to provide guidance for the in-depth investigation of MOFs towards practical applications.

Synthesis of cyclic carbonates from epoxides and CO2
TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of cyclic carbonates by the 100% atom economical reaction between epoxides and CO2 is reviewed in the context of reducing global emissions of waste CO 2 and converting waste CO2 into industrially useful chemical feedstocks.
Journal ArticleDOI
First-Row Transition Metal (De)Hydrogenation Catalysis Based On Functional Pincer Ligands.
TL;DR: This review aims at providing a comprehensive picture of the utilization of functional pincer ligands in first-row transition metal hydrogenation and dehydrogenation catalysis and related synthetic concepts relying on these such as the hydrogen borrowing methodology.

Use of heterogenized dialdimine ligands in asymmetric transfer hydrogenation
TL;DR: Heterogenized dialdimine ligands complexed to iridium were tested in the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone as discussed by the authors, achieving an Ee of up to 70% but the recycling was unsatisfactory.

Steric effects in the design of chiral Schiff base–titanium complexes: new catalysts for asymmetric trimethylsilylcyanation of aldehydes
Angeles Gama,Lucía Z. Flores-López,Gerardo Aguirre,Miguel Parra-Hake,Ratnasamy Somanathan,Patrick J. Walsh +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, chiral Schiff base ligands derived from salicylaldehydes bearing bulky ring substituents were synthesized by reaction with various amino alcohols and used with titanium tetraisopropoxide to study steric effects on the enantioselectivity of the trimethylsilylcyanation of aldehydes.

Zeolite effect in the enantioselective transhydrogenation over a Co‐salen “ship‐in‐the‐bottle” complex
TL;DR: In this article, the transhydrogenation of carbonyl groups using Co(II)salen complexes entrapped in zeolites was investigated, and the results of the test reactions showed that an immobilization of the Co-salen 1 complex in the zeolite as a “SIB” complex results in an enantiomeric excess as high as in the homogeneous case.

Asymmetric Synthesis XXIV: Chiral Salen-Titanium Complexes-Efficient Catalysts for Asymmetric Trimethyl Silylcyanation of Benzaldehyde
TL;DR: Chiral salen-titanium complex was found to be an effective catalyst for the enantioselective silylcyanation of benzaldehyde as mentioned in this paper, which was obtained by using 5mol% Ti(IV) complex 2d as a catalyst.
