Enantioselective addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes catalyzed by a β-amino alcohol derived from (+)-3-carene

TL;DR: In this article, a (+)-3-carene derived aminoalcohol was successfully used as a chiral ligand in the catalytic enantioselective diethylzinc addition to various aldehydes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of novel norephedrine-based chiral ligands with multiple stereogenic centers and their application in enantioselective addition of diethylzinc to aldehyde and chalcone

TL;DR: Novel nore phedrine-based chiral ligands with multiple stereogenic centers were conveniently prepared from norephedrine and N-substituted pyrrole to catalyze the enantioselective addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes and to chalcone in high yields and with good to high enantiOSElectivities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes catalyzed by a camphor-derived β-amino alcohol

TL;DR: The asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes, including linear alphatic ones, catalyzed by 2 ǫ% of β-amino alcohol (1S, 2R)-7,7-dimethyl-1-morpholin-4-yl-bicyclo[221] gave the corresponding secondary alcohols in high yields and with up to 94% ee at ambient temperature after 15min this paper.

Expanding Mg–Zn Hybrid Chemistry: Inorganic Salt Effects in Addition Reactions of Organozinc Reagents to Trifluoroacetophenone and the Implications for a Synergistic Lithium–Magnesium–Zinc Activation

TL;DR: X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, DFT calculations and theoretical modelling of the reaction of EtMgCl with ZnCl reveal that formation of the mixed-metal compound is thermodynamically preferred to that of the expected homometallic products, RZnCl and MgCl(2), pointing towards the existence of a trilateral Li/Mg/Zn synergistic effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical and experimental studies of asymmetric organozinc additions to benzaldehyde catalyzed by flexible and constrained gamma-amino alcohols.

TL;DR: In this article, the cis-decalin based gamma-amino alcohols, 1-5, were synthesized, resolved, and employed as catalysts in the addition of organozincs to benzaldehyde.
