Unexpected efficiency of non‐C2‐symmetric bis(hydroxyamide)‐based zinc‐chelate catalysts

TL;DR: The previously established assumption on the necessity of using C(2) -symmetric bis(hydrdoxyamides) to generate C( 2) -Symmetric zinc-chelate catalysts can be discarded and the possibilities for designing new ligands based on the interesting hydroxyl-amide functional grouping are expanded.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of (R)-(−)-1-Piperidino-3,3-dimethylbutan-2-ol: Application in the Molar Scale Asymmetric Ethylation of trans-Crotonaldehyde

TL;DR: A simple three-step preparation of (R)-(−)-1-piperidino-3,3-dimethylbutan-2-ol (amino alcohol catalyst for the Noyori asymmetric alkylation of aldehydes) based on a classical resolution of the race is described in this article.

Catalysts for asymmetric addition of organozinc regents to aldehydes and method for preparation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a chiral amino alcohol catalysts for aliphatic aldehydes containing a β-branch with greatly enhanced enantioselectivity relative to DAIB.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design, synthesis, and application of novel chiral ONN ligands for asymmetric alkylation

TL;DR: In this article, a set of chiral ONN ligands were synthesized and their catalytic potential was examined in asymmetric alkylation, and they were successfully applied as catalysts in the addition of diethyl zinc to various aromatic aldehydes, yielding secondary alcohols in excellent yields of up to 99% ee.
