Epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 99 cases of 2019 novel coronavirus pneumonia in Wuhan, China: a descriptive study

TLDR
Characteristics of patients who died were in line with the MuLBSTA score, an early warning model for predicting mortality in viral pneumonia, and further investigation is needed to explore the applicability of the Mu LBSTA scores in predicting the risk of mortality in 2019-nCoV infection.

Prevalence and severity of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19): A systematic review and meta-analysis.

TL;DR: A meta-analysis of clinical and epidemiological studies on confirmed cases of COVID-19 found the case severe rate and mortality is lower than that of SARS and MERS, and the most prevalent comorbidities are hypertension and diabetes which are associated with the severity of CO VID-19.
Journal ArticleDOI

Co-infection with respiratory pathogens among COVID-2019 cases.

TL;DR: Bacterial co-infections were dominant in all COVID-19 patients, Streptococcus pneumoniae was the most common, followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae, and the highest and lowest rates of co- Infections were found in patients aged 15–44 and below 15, respectively.

A systematic review of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine candidates.

TL;DR: An overview of the experimental and clinical data obtained from recent SARS-CoV-2 vaccines trials are provided, and certain potential safety issues that require consideration when developing vaccines are highlighted.
Journal ArticleDOI

The establishment of reference sequence for SARS‐CoV‐2 and variation analysis

TL;DR: There may be selective mutations in SARS‐COV‐2, and it is necessary to avoid certain regions when designing primers and probes, and establishment of the reference sequence could benefit not only biological study of this virus but also diagnosis, clinical monitoring and intervention of Sars‐CoV‐ 2 infection in the future.

Isolation of a Novel Coronavirus from a Man with Pneumonia in Saudi Arabia

TL;DR: The clinical picture was remarkably similar to that of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak in 2003 and reminds us that animal coronaviruses can cause severe disease in humans.

Origin and evolution of pathogenic coronaviruses

TL;DR: The viral factors that enabled the emergence of diseases such as severe acute respiratory syndrome and Middle East respiratory syndrome are explored and the diversity and potential of bat-borne coronaviruses are highlighted.
