NOAA’s HYSPLIT Atmospheric Transport and Dispersion Modeling System
TLDR
The Hybrid Single Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory model (HYSPLIT) as mentioned in this paper is one of the most widely used models for atmospheric trajectory and dispersion calculations.Abstract:
The Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory model (HYSPLIT), developed by NOAA’s Air Resources Laboratory, is one of the most widely used models for atmospheric trajectory and dispersion calculations. We present the model’s historical evolution over the last 30 years from simple hand-drawn back trajectories to very sophisticated computations of transport, mixing, chemical transformation, and deposition of pollutants and hazardous materials. We highlight recent applications of the HYSPLIT modeling system, including the simulation of atmospheric tracer release experiments, radionuclides, smoke originated from wild fires, volcanic ash, mercury, and wind-blown dust.read more

Occurrence of the potent mutagens 2- nitrobenzanthrone and 3-nitrobenzanthrone in fine airborne particles
TL;DR: In the present study, 2-NBA, 3-NBA and selected PAHs and Nitro-PAHs were determined in fine particle samples collected in a bus station and an outdoor site, showing low cancer risk incidence and incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) calculated for both places.
Real-time Environmental Applications and Display sYstem (READY) Website
TL;DR: The Real-time Environmental Applications and Display sYstem (READY) as discussed by the authors has been under continuous development since 1997 to provide access to a suite of tools for producing air parcel trajectory and dispersion model results and displaying meteorological data.

Real-time Environmental Applications and Display sYstem: READY
TL;DR: Read as discussed by the authors is a web-based suite of tools for producing air parcel trajectory and dispersion model results and displaying meteorological data, and it provides a "quasi-operational" portal to run the HYSPLIT atmospheric transport/dispersion model and interpret its results.

Atmospheric transport and deposition of microplastics in a remote mountain catchment
Steve Allen,Deonie Allen,Vernon R. Phoenix,Gaël Le Roux,Pilar Durantez Jimenez,Anaëlle Simonneau,Stéphane Binet,Didier Galop +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the observations of atmospheric microplastic deposition in a remote, pristine mountain catchment (French Pyrenees) and suggest that microplastics can reach and affect remote, sparsely inhabited areas through atmospheric transport.

Foliar heavy metal uptake, toxicity and detoxification in plants: A comparison of foliar and root metal uptake.
TL;DR: This is the first review regarding biogeochemical behaviour of heavy metals in atmosphere-plant system and summarizes the mechanisms involved in foliar heavy metal uptake, transfer, compartmentation, toxicity and in plant detoxification.
