Present-day and past (last 25000 years) marine pollen signal off western Iberia

TLDR
In this article, a comparison between modern terrestrial and marine pollen signals in and off western Iberia shows that marine pollen assemblages give an integrated image of the regional vegetation colonising the adjacent continent.
About

Consistently dated Atlantic sediment cores over the last 40 thousand years

Claire Waelbroeck, +67 more
- 02 Sep 2019 -
TL;DR: This is the first set of consistently dated marine sediment cores enabling paleoclimate scientists to evaluate leads/lags between circulation and climate changes over vast regions of the Atlantic Ocean.

Contrasting impacts of Dansgaard-Oeschger events over a western European latitudinal transect modulated by orbital parameters

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focused on latitudinal variability in the forest cover extent and composition of western Europe during the succession of Dansgaard-Oeschger (D-O) and Heinrich (H) events, showing new pollen records for core MD04-2845.

Orbital- and sub-orbital-scale climate impacts on vegetation of the western Mediterranean basin over the last 48,000 yr

TL;DR: In this paper, high-resolution pollen analysis of Alboran Sea core MD95-2043 provides a 48-ka continuous vegetation record that can be directly correlated with sea surface and deep-water changes.

Extended 14C Data Base and Revised Calib 3.0 14C Age Calibration Program

- 01 Jan 1993 -
TL;DR: The age calibration program, CALIB (Stuiver & Reimer 1986), first made available in 1986 and subsequently modified in 1987 (revision 2.0 and 2.1), has been amended anew as mentioned in this paper.

Correlations between climate records from North Atlantic sediments and Greenland ice

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present records of sea surface temperature from North Atlantic sediments spanning the past 90 kyr which contain a series of rapid temperature oscillations closely matching those in the ice-core record, confirming predictions that the ocean must bear the imprint of the Dansgaard-Oeschger events.

Origin and consequences of cyclic ice rafting in the Northeast Atlantic Ocean during the past 130,000 years

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of Earth's orbital parameters on major ice rafting was examined using deep-sea sediment cores recovered from the Northeast Atlantic Ocean in order to elucidate the influence.

Iceberg discharges into the north atlantic on millennial time scales during the last glaciation.

TL;DR: In this paper, high-resolution studies of North Atlantic deep sea cores demonstrate that prominent increases in iceberg calving recurred at intervals of 2000 to 3000 years, much more frequently than the 7000-to 10,000-year pacing of massive ice discharges associated with Heinrich events.
