Journal ArticleDOI
Revisiting the role of glycosylation in the structure of human IgG Fc
TL;DR: The structure of an E. coli expressed, aglycosylated human Fc domain is determined and Radii of Gyration (R(g)) is determined by small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and found that the aglyCosylated Fc displays a larger R(g) than glycosylate Fc, suggesting a more open C(H)2 orientation under these conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure of polystyrene glasses
TL;DR: In this article, a model was proposed in which the phenyl groups segregate on a molecular scale to form stacks; there are fewer stacks than chain backbones and they have a low electron density core which expands considerably in relation to its small diameter as the sample temperature increases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Origin of Multiple Melting Endotherms in a High Hard Block Content Polyurethane. 2. Structural Investigation
Alberto Saiani,Cyrille Rochas,G. Eeckhaut,William A. Daunch,Jan-Willem Leenslag,Julia S. Higgins +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the structure and morphology of a set of high hard block content (50% to 100% hard segment by weight) linear thermoplastic polyurethanes has been investigated mainly via small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
Journal ArticleDOI
Curvature-Dependent Recognition of Ethanolamine Phospholipids by Duramycin and Cinnamycin
Kunihiko Iwamoto,Tomohiro Hayakawa,Motohide Murate,Asami Makino,Kazuki Ito,Tetsuro Fujisawa,Toshihide Kobayashi +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that both duramycin and cinnamycin promote their binding to the PE-containing membrane by deforming membrane curvature and the binding of the lantibiotics to multilamellar liposomes induces tubulation of membranes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of branch fraction and minimum dimension of mass-fractal aggregates.
TL;DR: An approach is presented for the analysis of aggregate branching from static small-angle scattering and the branch content is of vital importance to understanding both the growth of aggregates and their physical properties, especially dynamic properties.

Statistical Mechanics of Fluid Mixtures
TL;DR: In this paper, the chemical potentials of the components of gas mixtures and liquid solutions are obtained in terms of relatively simple integrals in the configuration spaces of molecular pairs, and the molecular pair distribution functions appearing in these integrals are investigated in some detail, in their dependence upon the composition and density of the fluid.
Book
The optical principles of the diffraction of x-rays.
TL;DR: In this paper, Bragg et al. describe the Optik der R6ntgenstrahlen in Raumgitter and leitet damit fiber zu den experimentellen Methoden and Ergebn]ssen, die den folgenden B~nden vorbehalten bleiben.
Journal ArticleDOI
Small-Angle X-Ray Scattering
W. Ehrenberg,A. Franks +1 more
TL;DR: The neighbourhood of the direct beam is, for a variety of reasons, easily obscured by scattered radiation and insufficient collimation, so that special measures such as very long film-specimen distances or focusing crystal monochromators have been used for obtaining satisfactory photographs.
