Studies on the Conformational Properties of the High‐Mobility‐Group Chromosomal Protein HMG 17 and Its Interaction with DNA

TL;DR: The nuclear magnetic resonance data suggest that the principle DNA-binding segment of HMG 17 is that between about residues 15 and 40, and that in free solution this protein has little or no secondary or tertiary structure in contrast to the other high-mobility-group proteins, HMG 1 and 2, which exhibit highly ordered structures.
Journal ArticleDOI

A universal pathway for amyloid nucleus and precursor formation for insulin.

TL;DR: The methods and analyses presented here provide the first experimental molecular size description of the details of amyloid nucleus formation and subsequent propagation to fibril precursors independent of kinetics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure characterization of CVD amorphous Si3N4 by pulsed neutron total scattering

TL;DR: In this article, the structure factor of chemically vapor-deposited (CVD) amorphous Si 3 N 4 has been measured by pulsed neutron diffraction over the range of the scattering vector Q from 1-330 nm −1.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Quaternary Structure of Bovine α‐Crystallin

TL;DR: Two minor tryptic cleavage sites in A chains of native α-crystallin become more accessible in reassociated a- Crystallin, and particularly in pure A-chain reaggregates, which indicates a change in secondary/tertiary structure upon dissociation-reassociation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Small angle X-ray scattering as a complementary tool for high-throughput structural studies†

TL;DR: SAXS is a powerful albeit low-resolution technique that can provide additional structural information in a high-throughput and complementary manner to improve the functional interpretation of high-resolution structures.

Statistical Mechanics of Fluid Mixtures

TL;DR: In this paper, the chemical potentials of the components of gas mixtures and liquid solutions are obtained in terms of relatively simple integrals in the configuration spaces of molecular pairs, and the molecular pair distribution functions appearing in these integrals are investigated in some detail, in their dependence upon the composition and density of the fluid.

The optical principles of the diffraction of x-rays.

TL;DR: In this paper, Bragg et al. describe the Optik der R6ntgenstrahlen in Raumgitter and leitet damit fiber zu den experimentellen Methoden and Ergebn]ssen, die den folgenden B~nden vorbehalten bleiben.

Small-Angle X-Ray Scattering

TL;DR: The neighbourhood of the direct beam is, for a variety of reasons, easily obscured by scattered radiation and insufficient collimation, so that special measures such as very long film-specimen distances or focusing crystal monochromators have been used for obtaining satisfactory photographs.
