Determination of micelle structure and charge by neutron small-angle scattering

TL;DR: In this article, a general method of determining the structure and charge of globular ionic micelles, using neutron small-angle scattering, was presented, based in part on an analytic calculation of the interparticle correlations between monodisperse spherical mouselles.
Book ChapterDOI

Static and dynamic light scattering from branched polymers and biopolymers

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors deal with branched macromolecules in dilute solution, where the individual molecules are observed, and the common technique for determining the shape of macromoles is static light scattering.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanism of lithium insertion in hard carbons prepared by pyrolysis of epoxy resins

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the preparation of hard carbon samples from epoxy resins and show that these materials incorporate small nanopores between the single layers, which are about 15 A in diameter.
Journal ArticleDOI

Energy, charge, and spin transport in molecules and self-assembled nanostructures inspired by photosynthesis.

TL;DR: The development of small, functional building blocks, having a minimum number of covalent bonds, which also have the appropriate molecular recognition sites to facilitate self-assembly into a complete, functional artificial photosynthetic system is an important approach to achieving this goal.
Journal ArticleDOI

SAXS experiments on absolute scale with Kratky systems using water as a secondary standard

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used Kratky slit collimation to measure the absolute intensity of small-angle scattering, of X-rays (SAXS) and neutrons (SANS), which is the ratio of the scattering intensity to the primary intensity.

Statistical Mechanics of Fluid Mixtures

TL;DR: In this paper, the chemical potentials of the components of gas mixtures and liquid solutions are obtained in terms of relatively simple integrals in the configuration spaces of molecular pairs, and the molecular pair distribution functions appearing in these integrals are investigated in some detail, in their dependence upon the composition and density of the fluid.

The optical principles of the diffraction of x-rays.

TL;DR: In this paper, Bragg et al. describe the Optik der R6ntgenstrahlen in Raumgitter and leitet damit fiber zu den experimentellen Methoden and Ergebn]ssen, die den folgenden B~nden vorbehalten bleiben.

Small-Angle X-Ray Scattering

TL;DR: The neighbourhood of the direct beam is, for a variety of reasons, easily obscured by scattered radiation and insufficient collimation, so that special measures such as very long film-specimen distances or focusing crystal monochromators have been used for obtaining satisfactory photographs.
