Stabilization of TiO2 nanoparticles in complex medium through a pH adjustment protocol.

TL;DR: An optimized dispersion protocol involving a pH adjustment before addition of bovine serum albumin (BSA) yielded highly dispersed and stable concentrated stock suspensions of TiO(2) NP at pH 7.7, which was designed for four kinds of manufactured TiO (2) nanomaterials and can be extended to a wide range of TiOs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure of Quenched and Irradiated Metals

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of point defects introduced by quenching and irradiation using the small-angle x-ray scatter technique was studied using thin-film electron transmission microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oligomerization as a strategy for cold adaptation: Structure and dynamics of the GH1 β-glucosidase from Exiguobacterium antarcticum B7

TL;DR: This work used X-ray crystallography, in solution studies and molecular dynamics simulations to reveal the structural basis for cold adaptation of the GH1 β-glucosidase from Exiguobacterium antarcticum B7 and reveals a novel strategy for enzyme cold adaptation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies of voids in neutron-irradiated aluminium single crystals: II. Small-angle neutron scattering

TL;DR: In this paper, a truncated octahedral shape of voids is interpreted in terms of the truncation of the voids and compared with companion transmission electron microscopy and immersion density measurements, showing a marked temperature dependence resulting from the small thermal gradient in the reactor core.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interactions in solution and crystallization of Aspergillus flavus urate oxidase

TL;DR: In this paper, the interaction potentials of urate oxidase from Aspergillus flavus have been studied by small-angle X-ray scattering to determine crystallization conditions.

Statistical Mechanics of Fluid Mixtures

TL;DR: In this paper, the chemical potentials of the components of gas mixtures and liquid solutions are obtained in terms of relatively simple integrals in the configuration spaces of molecular pairs, and the molecular pair distribution functions appearing in these integrals are investigated in some detail, in their dependence upon the composition and density of the fluid.

The optical principles of the diffraction of x-rays.

TL;DR: In this paper, Bragg et al. describe the Optik der R6ntgenstrahlen in Raumgitter and leitet damit fiber zu den experimentellen Methoden and Ergebn]ssen, die den folgenden B~nden vorbehalten bleiben.

Small-Angle X-Ray Scattering

TL;DR: The neighbourhood of the direct beam is, for a variety of reasons, easily obscured by scattered radiation and insufficient collimation, so that special measures such as very long film-specimen distances or focusing crystal monochromators have been used for obtaining satisfactory photographs.
