Crystal Structure of HIV-1 Primary Receptor CD4 in Complex with a Potent Antiviral Antibody.

TL;DR: The crystal structure of ibalizumab Fab fragment in complex with the first two domains of CD4 at 2.2 Å resolution could guide CD4-based immunogen design and lead to a better understanding of HIV-1 entry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Particle Size, Morphology, and Chemical Composition Controlled CoFe2O4 Nanoparticles with Tunable Magnetic Properties via Oleic Acid Based Solvothermal Synthesis for Application in Electronic Devices

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of oleic acid concentration (0.0-0.1 M) on the structural, physical, chemical, electronic, and magnetic properties of solvothermally synthesized cobalt ferrite nanoparticles is investigated in detail by using the OA based chemical method for synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

A model of dynamic scattering by microemulsions

TL;DR: In this article, a model for the statistical thermodynamics of microemulsion phase equilibria is used to treat the static and dynamic scattering by such systems, where the random internal oil/water geometry is represented as resulting from a Voronoi tessellation, and temporal fluctuations are introduced by allowing the generating Poisson nuclei to perform independent Brownian motions.

A New Insight into Growth Mechanism and Kinetics of Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles by in Situ Small Angle X-ray Scattering

TL;DR: The growth mechanism and kinetics of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) were investigated for the first time by using a synchrotron time-resolved small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) analysis, and a new "swelling-shrinking" mechanism is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sulfonated Poly(ether ketone ketone) Ionomers as Proton Exchange Membranes

TL;DR: Sulfonated poly(ether ketone ketone) ionomers (SPEKK) with ion exchange capacities (IEC) between 0.2 and 3.4 meq/g were prepared by sulfonating PEKK with a mixture of concentrated and fuming sulfuric acids as discussed by the authors.

Statistical Mechanics of Fluid Mixtures

TL;DR: In this paper, the chemical potentials of the components of gas mixtures and liquid solutions are obtained in terms of relatively simple integrals in the configuration spaces of molecular pairs, and the molecular pair distribution functions appearing in these integrals are investigated in some detail, in their dependence upon the composition and density of the fluid.

The optical principles of the diffraction of x-rays.

TL;DR: In this paper, Bragg et al. describe the Optik der R6ntgenstrahlen in Raumgitter and leitet damit fiber zu den experimentellen Methoden and Ergebn]ssen, die den folgenden B~nden vorbehalten bleiben.

Small-Angle X-Ray Scattering

TL;DR: The neighbourhood of the direct beam is, for a variety of reasons, easily obscured by scattered radiation and insufficient collimation, so that special measures such as very long film-specimen distances or focusing crystal monochromators have been used for obtaining satisfactory photographs.
