TLDR
In this paper, the production of mesons containing strange quarks (KS, φ) and both singly and doubly strange baryons (,, and − + +) are measured at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at √ s = 0.9 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC.

An Experimental Review on Elliptic Flow of Strange and Multistrange Hadrons in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions

TL;DR: In this article, a brief review on the elliptic flow measurements of multistrange hadrons in relativistic heavy ion collisions at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is given.

Bulk matter physics and its future at the Large Hadron Collider

TL;DR: In this article, measurements at low transverse momentum were performed at the LHC for studying particle production mechanisms in pp and heavy-ion collisions, focusing on tracking elements and particle identification, in order to anticipate the study of baryon production for both colliding systems at multi-TeV energies.

Enhanced production of ψ (2 S ) mesons in heavy ion collisions

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the wave function dependence in meson production by recombination of charm and anti-charm quarks, and showed that the enhanced transverse momentum distribution of mesons compared to that of $J/\psi$ mesons, originated from wave function distributions of the meson in momentum space, provides a plausible explanation for the recent measurement of the nuclear modification factor ratio.

Toward the Limits of Matter: Ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions at CERN

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe three decades of work at CERN devoted to the study of the QCD plasma and the phase transition, and describe the trajectories of the nuclei at relativistic energy, which create fireballs of sufficient energy density to cross the phase boundary.

Nonextensive lattice gauge theories: Algorithms and methods

TL;DR: A class of generalized heat-bath algorithms that enable Monte Carlo lattice simulations of gauge fields on the nonextensive statistical ensemble of Tsallis imply that the long-standing universality arguments relating gauge theories and spin systems hold also for theNonextensive framework.

GEANT Detector Description and Simulation Tool

TL;DR: GEANT as discussed by the authors is a system of detector description and simulation tools that help physicists in high energy particle physics experiments, and it can be used to design and optimise the detectors, develop and test the reconstruction and analysis programs, and interpret the experimental data.

Application of Kalman filtering to track and vertex fitting

TL;DR: In this article, the proper theoretical framework for these procedures is the theory of linear filtering, in particular the Kalman filter, and the results from filtering theory are confirmed and extend the previous results.

EPS09: A New Generation of NLO and LO Nuclear Parton Distribution Functions

TL;DR: In this paper, a next-to-leading order (NLO) analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) and their uncertainties was carried out for the first time with three different types of experimental input, including Drell-Yan dilepton production in p+A collisions and inclusive pion production in d+Au and p+p collisions at RHIC.
