TLDR
In this paper, the production of mesons containing strange quarks (KS, φ) and both singly and doubly strange baryons (,, and − + +) are measured at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at √ s = 0.9 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC.

Azimuthal anisotropies in p + Pb collisions from classical Yang–Mills dynamics

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compute single and double inclusive gluon distributions in classical Yang-Mills simulations of proton-lead collisions and extract the associated transverse momentum dependent Fourier harmonics v 2 (p T ) and v 3 ( p T ).
Journal ArticleDOI

Midrapidity Antiproton-to-Proton Ratio in pp Collisons root s=0.9 and 7 TeV Measured by the ALICE Experiment

K. Aamodt, +1091 more
TL;DR: The ALICE experiment at root s = 0.9 and 7 TeV during the initial running periods of the Large Hadron Collider was used to measure the ratio of antiprotons to protons in collisions.

Bottomonium above Deconfinement in Lattice Nonrelativistic QCD

TL;DR: It is found that the Υ is insensitive to the temperature in this range, while the χb propagators show a crossover from the exponential decay characterizing the hadronic phase to a power-law behavior consistent with nearly free dynamics at T ≃ 2T(c).

Measurement of D0 Azimuthal Anisotropy at Midrapidity in Au+Au Collisions at sNN =200 GeV

Leszek Adamczyk, +344 more
TL;DR: The first measurement of the elliptic anisotropy (v_{2}) of the charm meson D^{0} at midrapidity (|y|<1) in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV, suggesting that charm quarks have achieved local thermal equilibrium with the medium created in such collisions.

Influence of a temperature-dependent shear viscosity on the azimuthal asymmetries of transverse momentum spectra in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of a temperature-dependent shear viscosity over entropy density ratio over entropy was studied. And the authors investigated the azimuthal flow asymmetries as a function of both collision energy and centrality and found that the centrality dependence of the elliptic flow is sensitive to the temperature dependence of $\ensuremath{\eta}/s$.

GEANT Detector Description and Simulation Tool

TL;DR: GEANT as discussed by the authors is a system of detector description and simulation tools that help physicists in high energy particle physics experiments, and it can be used to design and optimise the detectors, develop and test the reconstruction and analysis programs, and interpret the experimental data.

Application of Kalman filtering to track and vertex fitting

TL;DR: In this article, the proper theoretical framework for these procedures is the theory of linear filtering, in particular the Kalman filter, and the results from filtering theory are confirmed and extend the previous results.

EPS09: A New Generation of NLO and LO Nuclear Parton Distribution Functions

TL;DR: In this paper, a next-to-leading order (NLO) analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) and their uncertainties was carried out for the first time with three different types of experimental input, including Drell-Yan dilepton production in p+A collisions and inclusive pion production in d+Au and p+p collisions at RHIC.
