TLDR
In this paper, the production of mesons containing strange quarks (KS, φ) and both singly and doubly strange baryons (,, and − + +) are measured at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at √ s = 0.9 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC.

Bottomonium suppression at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV using a model based on color screening and gluonic dissociation with collisional damping

S. Ganesh, +1 more
- 21 Sep 2013 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a model to explain the bottomonium suppression in Pb+Pb collisions at mid rapidity obtained from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Medium modifications of girth distributions for inclusive jets and $Z^0+{\rm jet}$ in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at the LHC

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the medium modifications of girth distributions for inclusive jets and tagged jets with small radius ($R=0.2$) in Pb+Pb collisions with $\sqrt{s}=2.76$ TeV at the LHC.

Neutron-skin effect in direct photon and charged hadron production in Pb+Pb collisions at the LHC

TL;DR: It is found that due to the estimated spatial dependence of the nuclear parton distribution functions, it will be demanding to unambiguously expose the neutron-skin effect with direct photons, but when taking a ratio between the cross sections for negatively and positively charged high-pT hadrons, even centrality-dependent nuclear-PDF effects cancel, making this observable a better handle on the neutron skin.

Di-hadron correlations with identified leading hadrons in 200 GeV Au+Au and d+Au collisions at STAR

Leszek Adamczyk, +326 more
- 17 Dec 2015 -
TL;DR: In this article, the Star Collaboration presented for the first time two-dimensional di-hadron correlations with identified leading hadrons in 200 GeV central Au+Au and minimum-bias d + Au collisions to explore hadronization mechanisms in the quark gluon plasma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Estimate of the single diffractive heavy quark production in heavy ion collisions at the CERN LHC

TL;DR: The single diffractive cross section for heavy quarks production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has been calculated in this paper for nucleus-nucleus collisions, where the nuclei involved are lead at 5.5 TeV and calcium at 6.3 TeV.

GEANT Detector Description and Simulation Tool

TL;DR: GEANT as discussed by the authors is a system of detector description and simulation tools that help physicists in high energy particle physics experiments, and it can be used to design and optimise the detectors, develop and test the reconstruction and analysis programs, and interpret the experimental data.

Application of Kalman filtering to track and vertex fitting

TL;DR: In this article, the proper theoretical framework for these procedures is the theory of linear filtering, in particular the Kalman filter, and the results from filtering theory are confirmed and extend the previous results.

EPS09: A New Generation of NLO and LO Nuclear Parton Distribution Functions

TL;DR: In this paper, a next-to-leading order (NLO) analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) and their uncertainties was carried out for the first time with three different types of experimental input, including Drell-Yan dilepton production in p+A collisions and inclusive pion production in d+Au and p+p collisions at RHIC.
