TLDR
In this paper, the production of mesons containing strange quarks (KS, φ) and both singly and doubly strange baryons (,, and − + +) are measured at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at √ s = 0.9 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC.

Tuning Monte Carlo Generators: The Perugia Tunes

Peter Skands
- 20 Oct 2010 -
TL;DR: In this article, the p{sub perpendicular}-ordered shower and underlying event model in Pythia 6.4 is updated and supersede the older "S0" family, and a set of 8 related "Perugia variations" that attempt to systematically explore soft, hard, parton density, and color structure variations in the theoretical parameters.

EPOS LHC: Test of collective hadronization with data measured at the CERN Large Hadron Collider

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the changes required to the model to reproduce in detail the new data available from LHC and the consequences in the interpretation of these data, in particular the effect of the collective hadronization in p-p scattering.

Centrality Dependence of the Charged-Particle Multiplicity Density at Midrapidity in Pb-Pb Collisions at root s(NN)=2.76 TeV

K. Aamodt, +941 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the centrality dependence of the chargedparticle multiplicity density at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at root s(NN) = 2: 76 TeV is presented.

The alice experiment at the CERN LHC

TL;DR: ALICE as discussed by the authors is a general-purpose heavy-ion detector designed to study the physics of strongly interacting matter and the quark-gluon plasma in nucleus-nucleus collisions at the LHC at a center of mass energy of 5.5 TeV/nucleon.

Ratios of heavy baryons to heavy mesons in relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions

TL;DR: In this article, the transverse momentum dependence of the heavy baryon/meson ratios is found to be sensitive to the heavy quark mass in relativistic heavy ion collisions.

A MAPS based vertex detector for the STAR experiment at RHIC

TL;DR: In this article, the MAPS-based vertex detector is proposed to detect decay vertices displaced from the interaction vertex and extend the capabilities of the STAR detector in the heavy flavor domain.

TID and Displacement Damage Effects in Vertical and Lateral Power MOSFETs for Integrated DC-DC Converters

TL;DR: TID and displacement damage effects are studied for vertical and lateral power MOSFETs in five different technologies in view of the development of radiation-tolerant fully integrated DC-DC converters as discussed by the authors.

3D Integrated Water Cooling of a Composite Multilayer Stack of Chips

TL;DR: In this article, a multiscale conjugate heat transfer model is developed for integrated water cooling of chip layers and validated with experimental measurements on an especially designed thermal test vehicle that simulates a four tier chip stack with a footprint of 1 cm 2.

Identified particles in pp and Pb?Pb collisions at LHC energies with the ALICE detector

TL;DR: The ALICE experiment has been taking data since 2009, with proton and lead beams, and the different particle identification techniques used by the experiment are briefly reviewed in this paper, where the energy dependence of the spectral shapes and particle ratios in pp collisions is discussed and the results are compared to previous experiments and commonly used Monte Carlo models.
