Lung cancer screening intervals based on cancer risk.

TL;DR: No significant relationship was demonstrated between risk of developing lung cancer (measured by risk models, age or smoking history, or PLCOM2012 scores) and lung cancer aggressiveness (me measured by VDT, cell-type and Stage), suggesting that there is no evidence for determining intervals between repeat screenings using risk-based characteristics.

Efficient procedure planning for comprehensive lymph node staging bronchoscopy

TL;DR: Tests indicate that the method derives optimal or near-optimal tours in under a few seconds, regardless of the number of target lymph nodes, while a brute force optimal search, on the other hand, generally cannot reach a solution in under 10 min.

Supraclavicular Recurrence in Completely Resected (y)pN2 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: Implications for Postoperative Radiotherapy.

TL;DR: SCR is not uncommon and has important prognostic significance in completely resected (y)pN2 NSCLC and 15 of the 22 ipsilateral SCRs could be covered by the virtual CTV of proposed ESRT.

Malignant Epithelial Tumors of the Lung

TL;DR: Lung cancer is an aggressive type of malignancy with a relative 5-year survival rate of 181% (2007-2013) On the brighter side, rates for new lung cancer cases have been falling on average 2% each year over the last 10 years, while death rates have been decreasing on average 25% each years from 2005 to 2014 as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chinese herbal injections versus intrapleural cisplatin for lung cancer patients with malignant pleural effusion: A Bayesian network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

TL;DR: The NMA showed that CHIs alone or combined with DDP could improve clinical effectiveness and quality of life and reduce AEs, compared to DDP alone.

The IASLC Lung Cancer Staging Project: Proposals for Revision of the TNM Stage Groupings in the Forthcoming (Eighth) Edition of the TNM Classification for Lung Cancer.

Peter Goldstraw, +142 more
TL;DR: The methods used to evaluate the resultant Stage groupings and the proposals put forward for the 8th edition of the TNM Classification for lung cancer due to be published late 2016 are described.

The IASLC Lung Cancer Staging Project: Proposals for the Revisions of the T Descriptors in the Forthcoming Eighth Edition of the TNM Classification for Lung Cancer

TL;DR: Recommendations are to subclassify T1 into T1a, T1b, and T1c, and to group involvement of main bronchus as T2 regardless of distance from carina; to group partial and total atelectasis/pneumonitis as T1; to reclassify diaphragm invasion as T4; and to delete mediastinal pleura invasion as a T descriptor.
