TLDR
The hypothesis that normal HMO concentrations and profiles vary geographically, even in healthy women is supported and targeted genomic analyses are required to determine whether these differences are due at least in part to genetic variation.About:

Cross-feeding interactions of gut symbionts driven by human milk oligosaccharidesand mucins
TL;DR: The molecular mechanisms of glycan-foraging by key microbial species and the potential butyrate-inducing interaction among gut symbionts is presented and it is shown that Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron could drive the butyrogenic trophic chain with Anaerostipes caccae.

In vitro fermentation of fructooligosaccharide and galactooligosaccharide and their effects on gut microbiota and SCFAs in infants
TL;DR: In this paper , the fermentation characteristics of fructooligosaccharides (FOS) and galactooligous (GOS) with infant fecal inoculum were investigated by HPLC and the changes in short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and lactate production were monitored.

A safety evaluation of mixed human milk oligosaccharides in neonatal farm piglets
TL;DR: The safety of this ingredient for addition to infant formula products is supported, since administration of HMO MIX 1 in a liquid diet up to 8.0 g/L resulted in no toxicologically-relevant effects in comparison with animals fed a control diet.

Controlling the false discovery rate: a practical and powerful approach to multiple testing
Yoav Benjamini,Yosef Hochberg +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a different approach to problems of multiple significance testing is presented, which calls for controlling the expected proportion of falsely rejected hypotheses -the false discovery rate, which is equivalent to the FWER when all hypotheses are true but is smaller otherwise.

Metagenes and molecular pattern discovery using matrix factorization.
TL;DR: Nonnegative matrix factorization is described, an algorithm based on decomposition by parts that can reduce the dimension of expression data from thousands of genes to a handful of metagenes, and found less sensitive to a priori selection of genes or initial conditions and able to detect alternative or context-dependent patterns of gene expression in complex biological systems.
