TLDR
The hypothesis that normal HMO concentrations and profiles vary geographically, even in healthy women is supported and targeted genomic analyses are required to determine whether these differences are due at least in part to genetic variation.About:

Food Insecurity and Maternal Diet Influence Human Milk Composition between the Infant’s Birth and 6 Months after Birth in Central-Africa
Jeanne H. Bottin,Simone J. P. M. Eussen,Aisosa J. Igbinijesu,Marko Mank,Jean-Christophe Junior Koyembi,Yawo Tufa Nyasenu,Gilles Ngaya,Daniel Mad-Bondo,Jean-Bertrand Kongoma,Bernd Stahl,Philippe J. Sansonetti,Raphaëlle Bourdet-Sicard,Violeta Moya-Alvarez +12 more
TL;DR: Food insecurity and maternal diet had a meaningful effect on HM composition with a possible impact being an infant undernourishment risk and plead for consistent actions on food security as an effective manner to influence the nutritional content of HM and thereby, potentially improve infant survival and healthy growth.

Human Milk Oligosaccharides Are Present in Amniotic Fluid and Show Specific Patterns Dependent on Gestational Age
Evelyn Jantscher-Krenn,Lara von Schirnding,Martin Trötzmüller,Harald Köfeler,Una Kurtovic,Herbert Fluhr,Andreas Müller,Soyhan Bagci +7 more
TL;DR: HMOs are already present in AF early in pregnancy, suggesting roles for HMOs in fetal tissue development during the time course of pregnancy, and extensive contact of the fetus with a broad variety of H MOs is demonstrated.

Human milk nutritional composition across lactational stages in Central Africa
Violeta Moya-Alvarez,Simone J. P. M. Eussen,Marko Mank,Jean-Christophe Junior Koyembi,Yawo Tufa Nyasenu,Gilles Ngaya,Daniel Mad-Bondo,Jean-Bertrand Kongoma,Bernd Stahl,Philippe J. Sansonetti,Raphaëlle Bourdet-Sicard +10 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors conducted a cohort study among 48 Central-African women and their 50 infants to analyze the emergence of gut dysbiosis in infants and describe the mother-infant transmission of microbiota between birth and 6 months of age.

Immune factors in human milk
TL;DR: Although the actual physiologic effects of each of these factors in the infant have not yet been elucidated completely, their presence seems to be extraordinarily relevant for infant and mammary health.

Rapid changes in Atlantic grey seal milk from birth to desertion
Amanda D. Lowe,Sami Bawazeer,David G. Watson,Suzanne McGill,Richard Burchmore,Patrick Pomeroy,Martyn Kennedy +6 more
TL;DR: Milk was collected from Atlantic grey seals periodically from birth until near desertion, indicating the most rapid transition from colostrum to mature phase lactation yet observed, and there was an unexpected persistence of immunoglobulin G almost until weaning, potentially indicating prolonged trans-intestinal transfer of IgG.

Controlling the false discovery rate: a practical and powerful approach to multiple testing
Yoav Benjamini,Yosef Hochberg +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a different approach to problems of multiple significance testing is presented, which calls for controlling the expected proportion of falsely rejected hypotheses -the false discovery rate, which is equivalent to the FWER when all hypotheses are true but is smaller otherwise.

Metagenes and molecular pattern discovery using matrix factorization.
TL;DR: Nonnegative matrix factorization is described, an algorithm based on decomposition by parts that can reduce the dimension of expression data from thousands of genes to a handful of metagenes, and found less sensitive to a priori selection of genes or initial conditions and able to detect alternative or context-dependent patterns of gene expression in complex biological systems.
