Journal ArticleDOI
Mutagenesis of Murine Cytomegalovirus Using a Tn3-Based Transposon
Xiaoyan Zhan,Manfred Lee,Gerardo Abenes,Ilse Von Reis,Chonticha Kittinunvorakoon,Petra Ross-Macdonald,Michael Snyder,Fenyong Liu +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that M25 is dispensable for viral growth in these organs and the presence of the transposon sequence in the viral genome does not significantly affect viral replication in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlation of Global MicroRNA Expression With Basal Cell Carcinoma Subtype.
Christopher Heffelfinger,Zhengqing Ouyang,Zhengqing Ouyang,Anna K. Engberg,David J. Leffell,Allison Hanlon,Patricia B. Gordon,Wei Zheng,Hongyu Zhao,Michael Snyder,Allen E. Bale +10 more
TL;DR: This results represent the first miRNA profiling study in BCCs and demonstrate that miRNA gene expression may be involved in tumor pathogenesis and particularly in determining the aggressiveness of these malignancies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Specific protein targeting during cell differentiation: polarized localization of Fus1p during mating depends on Chs5p in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Beatriz Santos,Michael Snyder +1 more
TL;DR: It is shown that Chs5p is also essential for the polarized targeting of Fus1p, but not of other cell fusion proteins, to the membrane during mating.
Journal ArticleDOI
A genome-wide association study identifies only two ancestry specific variants associated with spontaneous preterm birth.
Nadav Rappoport,Jonathan Toung,Dexter Hadley,Ronald J. Wong,Kazumichi Fujioka,Jason A. Reuter,Charles Abbott,Sam S. Oh,Donglei Hu,Celeste Eng,Scott Huntsman,Dale L. Bodian,John E. Niederhuber,John E. Niederhuber,Xiumei Hong,Ge Zhang,Weronika Sikora-Wohfeld,Christopher R. Gignoux,Hui Wang,John Oehlert,Laura L. Jelliffe-Pawlowski,Jeffrey B. Gould,Gary L. Darmstadt,Xiaobin Wang,Carlos Bustamante,Michael Snyder,Elad Ziv,Nikolaos A. Patsopoulos,Louis J. Muglia,Esteban G. Burchard,Gary M. Shaw,Hugh O'Brodovich,David K. Stevenson,Atul J. Butte,Marina Sirota +34 more
TL;DR: The fetal genetic contribution to PTB is unlikely due to single common genetic variant, but could be explained by interactions of multiple common variants, or of rare variants affected by environmental influences, all not detectable using a GWAS alone.
Journal ArticleDOI
X chromosome-wide analyses of genomic DNA methylation states and gene expression in male and female neutrophils
Yukio Yasukochi,Osamu Maruyama,Milind Mahajan,Carolyn Padden,Ghia Euskirchen,Vincent P. Schulz,Hideki Hirakawa,Satoru Kuhara,Xinghua Pan,Peter E. Newburger,Michael Snyder,Sherman M. Weissman +11 more
TL;DR: The overall levels of expression of X-linked genes were indistinguishable in females and males, regardless of the methylation state of the inactive X chromosome, suggesting that other factors are involved in the fine tuning of gene dosage compensation in neutrophils.
